I recently moved to Europe from the U.S. and decided that i was going to start playing DAOC again while i waited for WAR to release. I quickly found out when i tried to download the game to my comp again that there is a complete different download that i have to get for playing DAOC in Europe. I also found out that i have to purchase everything AGAIN, to get to play past a trial period.
This did'nt bother me that much. What bothers me is, if i start playing WAR over here when it is released, will my account and toons be lost to me once i return to the U.S. in a couple of years?

So buy the US box right away instead?
Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
It all sucked.
That is what i planned on doing. Just wondering if anybody could verify if WAR is going to work the same way as DAOC when it comes to regions independently owning the game. This is a new world to me, things like this go unnoticed to a person that lives in one region code there entire life.
Also, if i was to download the US/Mythic server version of the game off the DAOC website it would only be compatable to US servers. So, if i do buy a U.S. version of WAR, will i even be able to play it on servers in Europe?
If I remember correctly the same company that is handling DAOC will also be doing the same for WAR, so assume that things will be the same as with DAOC
If you want to play on the European servers you will most likely have to wait for the European version.
The game will be localised which is a shame because i play mmorpgs to play with people from all over the world.
Well crap! This is not good news. Oh well, thank you everyone for your help.
