SOE has published the patch notes for Game Update 1 for Star Wars Galaxies.
Smuggler:
- False Hope should now animate and throw its grenade properly.
- Fence Items listing no longer lists items that are equipped.
- NPCs can no longer spawn and intercept smugglers over water.
- Hide Ally should allow a target to move after stopping all movement while stealthed.
- The abilities "Call a Favor 1: Smuggler" and "Call a Favor 2: Medic" that summon a smuggler or medic have been fixed so that the NPC the abilities summon can be killed in combat.
- Fence Item now will reshow the interface if no junk was selected and the "Fence" button was pressed.
- Hide Ally should play a smoke effect on the target.
- Smuggling: Emory waypoint on Rori is now at the correct location.
- Smuggling system NPC's should no longer spawn with a level over 90.
Spy:
- Fixed a bug that allowed traps to be dropped in houses and then moved around with decoration options.
- Preparation and Decoy no longer show in other players' combat messages.
- Spies can now abandon quests while stealthed.
- Mon Calamari, Wookiees, and Ithorians can now wear the stealth gloves granted for their profession.
- Changed Covert Mastery expertise from "Reduces the action cost of Smoke bombs, Without a Trace, and Burst of Shadows by 10% per point" to "Single target direct attacks that fail to hit their target (Miss, Dodge, Parry) cost 0 action".
- Reduced cost of Covert Mastery expertise from four points to one.

Game Update #1? Am i mis-reading something here? I could of swore this game has been out long enough to have more than one game update. Maybe its just me ......... heh.

So they still havent fixed the issue with npc's shooting through obstructions such as cave walls, floors, and buildings, rocks, trees etc..

There is too many things to fix. Thats always been the problem with this game. It is too big and complex for the team of devs to keep up with. So they had to dumb it down a little and its still too big for the now small team. A game like this used to be, needs a much bigger team or better. Look at darkfall online, its supposed to be more complex than any other game ever. Why do you think it hasnt come out yet with no date set for beta.
Even with all the bugs id still play the old swg.

Seriously, I read the list, and it looks like stuff that should have been fixed a year ago or more when they first broke it, with the NGE. So where the hell are they getting Game Update 1 from? I thought this was like game update 8 or something like that? Or did they just change the name again of what they are calling their updates, cause you know, a turd in a new package is still a turd lol.

What like beast master and expertise?
In a recent post Deadmeat explained where the new dev teams are going for 2008. Half the team will work on fixes the other half on new content. We are coming up on CHAPTER 9 but with the new devs and new content in place they are calling it Game Update 1. Since before they had minor fixes calling them Chapter 7.1 or 7.2 before.

Not having a Smuggler or Spy, my favourite part of this update would have to be the new ability to be able to lock down UI segments. Been wanting something like that for over 4 years now...no more randomly dragging the UI all over the place accidently!

As mentioned above, the current naming scheme of Chapters hasn't changed. However, Chapters will now be completely focused on content. Bug fixes related to the content from the current Chapter will be called "Chapter X.X". Tweaks and bug fixes that aren't directly related to the Chapter are now under their new Game Update scheme and happen every 3 weeks.
They can call it what they like but its much to little much to late .

3 weeks? Consistantly? From SoE? Yeah, right; I'll believe that when I see it. Remove the space-and-letters " fixe" from that statement and I'm much more likely to agree.
Though it matters very little, since I'm long past given up re-trying the NGE every single chapter, to see if it's worth playing, again. I just can't get past that almost non-existant, dying (false) hope that pre-CU might, somehow, from a galaxy far, far away, return to be played. Level-based class-restricted progression doesn't, and never did, fit with SWG. Leave those to the still-successful MMOGs, eh? *beats the long-dead horse some more* Copy-cat, concept-destroying developers be damned.
