MS already stated they would support Blu-Ray if thats what the people choose. It dosent matter to them either way, all they did was flip a coin and chose one. And im sure Sony using Blu-Ray helped that coin land on their side.

Glad I sold my 360 HDD player when I had the chance.

I didn't expect the format war to end this quickly.

I still doubt that Blu Ray will replace DVD.

I still find it funny that people are calling this a victory for Sony. Sony did not create Blu-Ray, its a group. Sony also does not own Blu-Ray, they just support it. So in reality this really wasnt like BETAMAX vs VHS in terms on company ownership at least.

Actually, it is a victory for Sony.  Sony manufactured the first Blu-ray player.  Sony is one of the 18 board of directors of the Blu-ray foundation, and one of the 9 founding members.  Sony currently markets the most widely sold Blu-ray player on the market, and it is safe to say a majority of Blu-ray players bear the Sony Label.  The PS3 nicely plops itself in the middle of the markets letting gamers pick up Blu-ray disks on a whim, and letting hardcore video enthusiasts pick up games, at a decent cost.

So yes, this is a victory for Sony, and an egg on the face of M$ and their X-Bot fanbois.
