I just saw a different interview (I believe with the same guy) on the G4 network.
He mentioned something about there be no "classes" but that the role you take will be based on the "costume" that you have on. If you wanted to be a mercenary, you put on your mercenary suit. If you wanted to be silent, you put on your stealth suit, etc.
I like how you will not apparently be locked into one role for your entire career. You can switch whenever you want. This is still a game that deserves watching.
Again, that's very old news ("you are what you wear"). Old, but good. ^_^
You are wrong about one thing, though--while you can change your class, you can't switch between a spy and a mercenary once you've chosen UNITE or ParaGON (except by making a new character, or possibly by joining a player-made agency). However, I think that if you wanted to be a stealthy merc or a somewhat overt spy, it's possible to do that.
