Well, not knowing what you like/dislike of MMO's I won't vote for your poll but I will certainly say that you will have PLENTY of time to get responses since even after the install (provided you have the DVD's), you still have loads of time updating!
One thing that has always bugged me with SoE games is their updater is always soo terribly slow. I have a 15mb download pipe and can download 5gb is an hour but it still takes 20+ hours to update VG from the install disks.....

Sorry man....I have heard people say they have updated it much quicker than that but I have never had that much success with SoE's updater.
I am in the middle of patching/installing the game right now. Last night when I went to sleep, I had 8 hours left to go... for some reason, I woke up this morning, and I have 55 hours to go, and it's going sloooooooooooow.
I just installed it on my second PC two nights ago and it took 2 and a half hours. What sort of connection do you have? What is your service provider generally like? Have you tried restarting it? There are all sorts of things that can effect your speeds.

It's down to 23 hours now. I didn't try restarting it, 'cause I thought I'd have to start over.

Another thing to keep in mind about SoE's updater other than it is notoriously slow, is that there is actually something wrong with it in that your time will appear huge (20+ hours) and simply stopping and restarting the updater and then it goes down to 2 hours. The crazy thing is the same problem happens on ALL SoE games.
lol I restarted the launcher. Now it's scanning my files, and it seems like it's gonna take just as long to finally get back to the patching again.
EDIT: There. It's just a little over 5 hours now. Though seems to be rising slowly rather than falling...
Something is wrong or there is something you forgot to mention. Try to find out what it is.

Make sure if your running Vista to either turn UAC off, or RClick the shortcut for SOE Launcher and select Run as Administrator. If you don't, it will download everything, but not install it.

I had a similar problem with EQII, everytime I started it, it shot up to 55 hours. I just kept retrying. eventually it did it in around 4 or 5.It's down to 23 hours now. I didn't try restarting it, 'cause I thought I'd have to start over.
That SOE launcher is a pain.
The first time I installed this game I had a heck of a time. I donno how many hours but it took a long while. Along with it constantly quitting n then I would hafta restart..blah. I just reinstalled the game a few days ago deciding to give the game another go. After installing the CDs fairly quickly I started the update. This time was very smooth. Took me less than 3 hours to update n start playing.
