McCain as the prime choice. He is the best to carry out the Bush agenda. US need a strong leader. Just remember that McCain is 71 and might only get one term. Nuff said.

I believe he is opposed to the draft. The only people who have tried to reinstate the draft are democrats... but that is more of a symbolic thing. Democrats seem to think that the sons of all the Republican guys should go to Iraq and fight....... of course McCains sons are in the military, one of which just came back from Iraq.
Take it from me, a non US national: VOTE McCain!!!!
Otherwise the world will be IMMENSELY CONFUSED.
I'll give an example:
*Preparations for the G8 meeting* "...so after dinner we'll be discussing the Russian-Ukranian energy crisis. British PM Brown would like to take the opportunity afterwards to get invite the Norwegian ambassador and the Russian delegation to rectify some of the long-standing disputes about the Norwegian gas sales to the UK. And that concludes the agenda for the final day. Everyone agrees?" people mumble in agreement all around the table A female secretary speaks up "One more thing, If I may..." "Of course" "Well, what has been planned for the comical relief for that first evening? It's been an old tradition to make them heads of state laugh a bit. To break the ice." "Well, I was under the impression we'd be doing the same we have been doing for the past 8 years. In stead of one main event featuring dozens of famous comedians we just invite George W. Bush and he'll cheer up everyone with his constant stupidities. Why do you think we order those extra cases of Scotch? To support his drinking habit of course." Silent laughter around the table, the DVD of last year had been a hit in international diplomatic circles. Apparently even the overly serious Chinese PM almost choked when he saw the footage of Bush trying to pronounce the word "Phenomena".
Then the female clears her throat. "Err... In that case we have a problem. Aren't there presidential elections a few weeks before the G8 meeting?" Everyone in the room ghasps in surprise. The female continues. "I know, I know. It only just occured to me a few moments ago the US is actually a democracy. Had almost forgotten it." The chairman of the meeting seems to be in complete disarray. "This doesn't only mean we'll have to book comical relief... This also means we've bought immense amounts of alcohol for nothing and most importantly: We'll have to start allowing the Americans in on actually important meetings again!" someone shouts: "Oh come on! It's been 8 years since we involved them in any true decision making. If we're lucky another Republican wins. Otherwise we'll have to redo the whole schedule..." The chairman sighs of relief. "You're right, if we're lucky the Republicans win and we won't have to involve them after all. I hereby close this meeting. See you next month."
See how you HAVE to elect McCain?

Yes, but if McCain wins, then he will probably start the draft again...
The problem the military is facing is that they are struggling to come up with enough warm bodies to keep the Army staffed at the levels they have now to keep the lid on the quagmire.
There simply aren't enough people willing to volunteer to get an arm or leg shot off in the name of Dick Cheney's cronies' bank accounts.
Because the open secret is that the security of the United States, or our freedoms, are not what is at stake in Iraq.
So, a draft to get sustainable numbers so we don't burn out the Army is needed. The problem is, many of the people who support the war from their living rooms will be subject to actually putting their lazy good for nothing asses on the line in the sandbox.
Cowardly people like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, who when confronted with their generation's war avoided participating at all costs, as they had "other prirorities. Much like many of the College Republicans nowadays who are all for the occupation as long as they don't have to personally participate.
Drafts scare the hell out of warmongers, because unless the war is popular or seen as really necessary, they can't be sustained. As happened during the Vietnam era, civil unrest results from drafts, particularly when the privleged are ask to put their butts on the line for this war that is purely optional.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.
None of the above. I despise Hillary. McCain is probably borderline insane. Obama is an empty suit with no experience. Any of them would be a disaster (though maybe not the disaster Bush is, OTOH, they will be FOLLOWING after Bush).
Both parties are morally bankrupt, IMO, and none of them seem to have a clue how to properly govern a free nation. My contempt for both major parties is pretty much boundless.
The President really doesn't have as much power as it seems. He cannot make laws/taxes, only deny them from passing. He also cannot go to war without congressional approval.
The military has been meeting their recruitment goals. A Draft isn't necessary and isn't wanted by the republican leadership. McCain especially does not want a draft.
I would vote for McCain if I had to vote for one of those three. Obama's view would destroy this country. Hillary is just full of hot air. She doesn't actually have an agenda other then to get elected. McCain has a lot of view points that I oppose but at least he realizes that we need less government not more.
Honestly I think this election will depend a lot on who the VP is.

Yes, the President cannot *declare* war. In fact, war has not been declared against Iraq. We are not, in fact, officially at war with anyone except possibly North Korea. Instead, the president simply uses the ill-advised War Powers Act to send troops somewhere, then dares Congress not to fund them.
And, it seems, they can vet the intel they give Congress to get them to give him an "authorization to use force" (which is not a declaration of war) with vague wording that allows him to do pretty much whatever he wants.
The power of the executive branch, as opposed to the other branches, has been growing for decades now. To say that the president doesn't have a whole lot of power is, IMO, rather specious.

I find it endearing that people still think that the Republicunts are still the party of fiscal responsibility and smaller gov't.
McCain I would have voted for in 2000, but after watching him roll over, and become Bush's lapdog after all the crap Rove pulled to smear him in the election, I have no respect for the man.
Clinton? I absolutely loathe that shrill, screeching harpy. People harp on Obama being overly ambitious, but what about Clintons? She's shown she is more than willing to tear apart her own party to win the election. She'll bend the rules as far as she can take them. That's not someone that should be let anywhere near the Presidency. Never mind the fact that I believe having Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton, would just lead to the Republicunts getting Jeb elected in 2012, at which point the experiment called America would be over.
Which leaves Obama. Who is not a baby boomer, or an out of touch septagenerian. People bitch about his experience. What experience, exactly, do McCain, or Clinton have as President? Ultimately, he'll get my vote, barring Clinton cheating her way into the nomination. In that case, it's time to just leave the damned country.
The President really doesn't have as much power as it seems. He cannot make laws/taxes, only deny them from passing. He also cannot go to war without congressional approval.
competely dead wrong
1. The President does legislate although its not consititutional. Ever hear of Executive Orders ? Each one the President creates is in fact a law (or legislation). The Constitution gives the power to legislate to the Congress but we havent followed the Constitution since at least 1913 (Federal Reserve Act)
2. The last war the US congress declared was World War 2. Since then, congress has approved funding for "police actions" but hasnt declared war on anyone. Korea, Vietnam, both Gulf wars, panama, grenada, and more all were done by the President without approval of anyone.
Amazing how misinformed people are. And these are the same people who vote
Well they aren't "Suppose" to have that power. I mean the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, is just as illegal and unconstitutional as the Patriot Act. Also they really don't teach you these unconstitutional additions in school.
It's not important who you vote for in this "election" because all three "candidates" are owned and operated by the Bilderberg oligarchy.
The economy will collapse no matter who wins.
Iran will be attacked no matter who wins.

actually he is 100% correct.
All the candidates are members of the CFR and puppets of the Bildeberger group. It doesnt matter who you vote for. The choice is an illusion.
The real question you all should be asking is why are all the candidates members of the CFR. Why are the main figurehead media tools all members of the CFR. And why is the american public woefully ignorant and unconcerned about an organization (cfr) that clearly runs the show and advocates world goverment.

heck the public school system itself is unconstitutional. Nothing in the Constitution gives the govt the power to create the Dept of Education.
Education is supposed to be run at the local level. The Federal govt has overstepped its authority and stomped on states rights by manipulating education. But there is a reason for this...
I think everyone here owes Captain Riker a big round of applause for endangering his life by posting the many things he learns in the back rooms of the many secret organizations he works to expose, and bring down. I mean, if he were discovered releasing such private information to the public, surely his life would be forfeit.
Nevermind that he's taking time out of his super busy schedule to educate us ignorant peons, when he should be out there organizing the opposition to these groups bent on destroying everything America stands for. Raising funds to fight their influence. You know, all the stuff he does when he's not posting on a video game message board.
What's that you say? He's just parroting bullshit he found on some whackjob web site? Nah, couldn't be. Only way people like him could possibly have gotten the vast amounts of intel they have on these shadowy puppetmaster organizations is if they'd infiltrated them at the highest echelons of power. And now they're passing on the information they've gleaned to help us, the wee ignorant herd, to fight our way to freedom! Not only is Capt. Riker a great humanitarian, but a great American as well, for risking his life for you ingrates.
Now give him the respect he deserves! You know he doesn't use the Interstate System?! Can you say you're doing as much to fight the man!?
