Funny Review

So I was looking at the EB games listing for AoC, and came across this preview:

"I was looking forward to this game. It looks simply amazing! I really wanted to get this game, but it turns out it is only going to be released for people that use windows. I guess i will just stick to WoW. i Just wish they would released this game for mac or something."

To me, this says a lot about not only this person but also about EB games' posting rules.

Surprise! The latest MMO is being developed soley for the PC! Sorry Mac users, but your trendy notebooks and effeminate products just aren't up to the task.

Of course, Mac users could have the Windows operating system installed on their computers, but Macs since macs are designed for people who have never seen a computer before, I guess we can't expect them to know that. :)

dont be dissing on apple man. most anybody who has quite a bit of experience with both macs and PCs would agree with me when i say that Macs are VASTLY superior to PCs. its my generation (me being 18) that has come to hate macs solely because they couldnt run as many games 5 years back.

oh come on, it cant be a suppise that a game wont be released for mac. It would be one if it where. NO ONE buys a mac because he wanna game alot, since 99% of all released (computer) games are for windows (EG not MacX). Sure you can install windows, and should do it if you plan to play alot a games.

Blizzard is one of the few gaming companies that makes games for Mac OS X, EG wow, but also starcraft etc.

Expecting a game to be playable on mac os X, would be like expecting to play crysis on Fendora (a linux os).

Im not doubting that a powerful mac would be able to play the game out of a hardware perspective. The macs are usually pretty good there, BUT lets look at the market. It is only a small percentage of the Mac owners (which is smaller than the pc market), which are using their macs to game.

The most usage is for Graphic designes etc, which is macs strongest side.

Umm... no. I have a lot of experience using Macs, and the day I discovered the Windows Operating system is the day I began to hate Macs with a passion. Their newest operating systems are still functionally less appealing to me than Windows 95.

Macs still can't run the latest games unless you're running the Windows operating system on them, which is just stupid. If you're a serious gamer, then you're going to be a PC person.

And frankly, Apple can take its trendy, effeminate mentality and leave the rest of us alone. Seriously, go into a Mac store and it will be run by about 15 effeminate men who probably turn the store into a gay bar at night.

Just reading the thread and laughing because it reminded me of this:

    Are Mac Owners Snobs?

Call it what you will, but in a cheeky video citing unidentified survey results, The Street.com points out several traits associated with Mac users, calling them "self centered, arrogant, or conceited." The video claims Mac users are more likely to use teeth whitening products, purchase five pairs of shoes each year, regularly buy organic food, visit Starbucks more frequently, and drive a hybrid car. See the full video here, then send the link to all your snooty Mac buddies. Of course, we'd be remiss not to point out Will Ferrell's compelling argument in favor of Macs

Ayup dont wanna go anywhere near a mac, sorry, but they just dont have what a PC does, and that price tag?! for what?! compare the price of a mac and compare to what u kind of PC u can get at those prices, its stupid.  fact is a Mac does nothing a PC cant do, but it sure as hell does less.

I don't buy a Mac for one reason and one reason alone, which I will get to in a moment.  But let me say something first.  I don't need some corporation telling me what's best for me.

I am a PC guy because I like to build PCs and I enjoy the benefits of not only reusing old parts to fall back on, but also because I beleive it's healthy for companies like newegg.com to be able to build a business off of providing quality goods and service that can meet any person's needs, wants, or price range.  (Not saying newegg is the only one or the best, just saying it's where I go, and serves a great example.)

Where do you go if yu want to purchase a Mac?  You go to a Mac store.  I live in one of the larger cities in TN folks.... I once heard a rumor that there was a Mac store here, but I have never seen it.  So even if I wanted a Mac, I couldn't get one because I don't know where it is.  I guess I could find the location online... but wait... I'd have to have a computer!  Let's pretend I don't have one - I can always go to the library... right?  Wait... they don't even use Macs - why should I?  Nowhere in the facilities at the University I attend and work at is there a Mac, except for someone's personal home/mobile use.  Is that because "the word just hasn't spread"?  No.  It's because Mac sucks.

Yeah, I know... there is probably a lot in that statement that I didn't go into detail about... but it all boils down to - Mac sucks for almost all common and practical endeavors.  How do I know this?  Because I've used a Mac?  No.  I know this, because i use a PC, and it can do anything I want to be able to do.  Not only this, but comapnies and universities nation/world wide agree with me on this.  Microsoft is the biggest and richest company in the world, besides those that deal in oil, and probably that has a see-saw effect.  Did they get that way because Mac is better than PC?  No.  They got there because PC platforms offer better and more versitile products.  The mere fact that Mac has to stoop so low as to make PC users feel like they are missing out on something by not switching to Mac, even moreso proves the fact that - Mac sucks!

Mac seems to think I shouldn't have to worry about options and the many different ways to build a PC.  I say, people should not only have to worry about that stuff, it's their right as a human being to have options that are not in preconceived packagaes based on demographic studies in some marketting department, which they really only use to figure out how much money they can pull out of someone.  "Oh, you belong in this demographic?  Well, you'll be happy with our standard package deal here.  It doesn't have all he bells and whistles that we advertise on our commercials, but it'll get the job done..... sort of. -- Oh!  I see... you have LOTS of money and you drive a fancy car.  Well, you should go into our secret VIP only section to see the "good stuff" that these other people can't afford.  You'll experience everything Mac has to offer *wink*"

Okay, but you're saying "PC is the same way.  You can't play Crysis on a mediocre machine and get everything it has to offer."  This is true... but then... you don't have to play Crysis either.  It's an option.  And besides that... ummm.... Crysis is a rare example to the utmost extreme.  I play CoD4 on a 6 year old machine with minimal upgrades on full settings.... and it looks better than anything I've seen to date.

I, as a white male of 25 yrs, probably have something in common with others in my demographic... sure.  I'm not a moron, and I can accept that.  Demographics are demographics because they are true to a point.  But I am still an individual who has my own particular likes and dislikes, probably most of which have more in common with any number of people in any number of demographics.  Demographics are only good for behavioral research and common associations in historical background - not personal fancies.

So, why am I a PC guy?  Plain and simple, I want to buy and purchase everything I want to buy and purchase, and nothing I don't.  Mac doesn't offer this - PC does.

As soon as I read this, I knew you were a Mac user. It's this pretentious "I'm better and more mature than you" attitude that makes me sick and will forever keep me away from Apple and the artsy, coffee shop, college kid snobs that use Macs.

Or maybe you're just upset because I'm one less guy you can fellate.

Why the hell would any gamer buy a Mac?  Like someone else said, Macs are way over priced.  For the same price you can get a kick ass gaming rig.

It is strange how that pretentious quality is mandatory when purchasing a mac.  Most of the people I know with a mac can't tell you why they have one, they just think they are better for facebooking on a mac laptop instead of the pauper's pc.
