help with game expansions

i downloaded the 7 day trial other day but i deceided to subscribe for 3 months straigth the way. Im not sure what expansions packs this has. If it doesnt have any what am i missing. The servers seem full of people so how come so many dont have expasnion packs. A quick rundown of what each expansion pack does would be useful as i looked on the official site and it wasted my time by confusing me with story updates not jsut what it added. Also would i need to start a char from scratch if i need to purchase these expansion packs. Please help me

OMFG cant belive u did that.. lol , Shroud isle or w/e the f%ck its called , gives u best solo class in game (necromancer-extremely useful class) and that atlantis expansion i dunno wtf that crap does .

when you pay do you get a physical game or cant you buy a downlaod only version? im interested cos i was about to start a new char and ill have to wait a week for the expansion to be shipped to the UK

Sounds to me like it should be coming in the mail for you(physical game) cuz if it was just a download u would already have downloaded it the moment u finished signing up for ur acct etc , but the 14 trial is a download. But u say u already put 3 months so im guessing u bought it

im sure i aint bought it. I jsut bought 3 mnoths for my account to remain active for 46 dollars. I jsut read the official site and lmfao lol rofl or whatever you say these days , i saw this:' *Note: This game CANNOT be shipped to countries belonging to the European Union. '
i still cant believe this. They ship to bloody 3rd world but not to most of europe. Is there any other way of purchasing the game, have i made a mistake somewhere. I see theres 2 british servers so why arent we allowed to buy the gold edition, how are ppl palying it in uk.

To play on euro servers you need to buy the game in europe.GOA run the servers here in europe and receive the patches that Mythic make.Then GOA translate them into french then german then english lol. So euro servers are always 3 months behind.GOA do not have any say in which way the game is going or on balancing issues etc.

 

The game you bought is the original classic version of DAoC.It contains no expansions. You could have bought from cdromshop.com or dvdboxoffice.com for round about $30 which is £17 now , the platinum version which is all the expansions (DAoC classic,Shrouded Isles and Trials of Atlantis plus the free expansions like housing etc) With this version you tried and paid for you can only play on the servers run by mythic.Which is good.Since they patch regualrly and arent monkeys like GOA.

 

BTW its $12.95 a month.You paid £46. 3x 12.95 means you paid around $8 for the game .

And no you keep the char you have when getting expansions as they arent new games or  sequels.

If you are playing on the U.S. servers, you need a U.S. version of the game/expansions.  The best to get is the Platinum Edition which contains classic DAOC (which you have), Shrouded Isles (all levels and 3 new races (1 per realm) and 6 new classes (2 per realm)), Housing expansion, Trials of Atlantis (level 25+ plus 3 new races (1 per realm)) and New Frontiers (RvR lands).

Does the platinum version have separated serial for expansions or its a unique serial for the whole game?

or with other words: Im playing the trial version atm, Can I buy the platinum version to upgrade this account?

Congratulations on picking DAoC which I consider the best mmo there is even though I dont play it anymore.

As previous posters has said there are two expansions for DAoC. Even though you will have plenty of adventure in the original DAoC I would recommend you to get SI, the first expansion since it contains a major graphics update.

The second update, Trails of Atlantis wont be needed until your atleast lvl40. Containing Master Levels and artifacts thats lvlable. You proberbly want this expansion if you continue to play DAoC and if youre planning to be competitable in RvR this unfortunately is a must.

A word of advice: Take your time, enjoy the beauty of the game and just relax or the game will end up playing you .
