Word to the wise stay away from SWG.

SWG may seem like it is getting better but it is not. Half the professions are not ballaanced properly and keep getting nerfed. Trader has more or less been shafted since day 1 of the NGE. Now SOE has also been banning people from the game as well as the forums for no reason at all. SOE has started to come completely unhinged as far as SWG is concerned. This is not the game we all payed to play and loved. They are destroying it piece by piece.

Also, they've almost always had over zealous forum mods who would ban posters for discussing problems in a constructive manner. Some how I doubt they're any more lenient with the game being as terrible as it is.
To think that SOE sold Lucas Arts on how this new direction would vastly increase the subscriber base is interesting. What happened to all the promises that the "nge" would allow for a plethora of new content since it was easier to manage - last time I checked there was still a large majority of core content which has been broken for over 2 years.
This game really has become a disgrace to everything Star Wars.

Welcome to the club starbuck. Im glad you finally saw the lies and things that were not going well over there. Lets hope more of the small amount of people over there do the same... so they can shut it down and another star wars mmo can come....

I still think they need to completey make a brand new SWG game with someone else running the show!
Played : WOW, LOTRO, COH/COV, EQ2, SWG, and WAR.

A "new" SWG that looked alot like the old pre-cu SWG would be ok with me. I left right before the CU as I had moved to an area without broadband. I came back after the CU and was a little frustrated with the game. I decided to give WoW a try for a while, and when I came back, the NGE completely turned me off after less than an hour. I haven't been back since.
I enjoyed the old SWG, but realize you really can't go back.

The NGE was the worst idea ever, poorest executed.
At this point, I'd have to recommend home rectal surgery with a Garden Weasel as being more fun than SWG.
At least that's the word on the street....
I think they're adding a collection for that in the next chapter.

Well. After giving the NGE 2 1/2 years of a try, I finally hit the cancel button for the 2nd and probably final time. Just had enough of the empty promises of a better, fixed game. The NGE was supposed to make things easier to fix than the previous incarnations. Yet they can't even fix the Top 5 of each profession.
Well. I decided to make my decision with my wallet. I'm out. Disgruntled vet, I am.

Anyways, it's showing pretty clearly in the past couple weeks that even the new dev team aren't that much different from the previous 6 teams SWG has had, they're coming up with some pretty useless and unnecessary changes. Their idea of adding more things to light and dark for Jedi, once again leaving smuggler out, and adding a grouping tool that is only going to work on the 4 or 5 populated servers.
About the grouping tool, if you play WoW, that game has a similar utility and even on big servers (20K+ players), you'd know that hardly anyone uses it because 99% of the time guilds take along guildies to do instances and missions, it's rather hard getting into a pickup and even when you do- you end up sitting there for 50 minutes looking for more members. Hell even in City of Heroes, LFT (looking for team) advertising is already hard enough past level 20.
