Hey, new to the game

lolage22lolage22 Member Posts: 1

Hi, i mainly came to this game for a more hardcore pvp game with hopefully alot of guild politics.

I was just wondering i understand the long grind before and "decent" pvp, but i would like some thoughts on what classes would be useful in pvp?

From my very breif reading i hear that Hawkeye and Necro seem to be decent builds as well as TH.

Thanks , ( and btw, when new EU server is out can i transfer a char. to that new server)

All classes are useful in pvp except maybe Shilen Elders, as all they can do is buff Empower and then stand there waiting to die (SEs are the perfect 2boxed class).

That said different classes are better in different pvp scenarios. Nukers tend to dominate small-scale pvp such as solo pvp, archers without a doubt dominate large scale pvp like sieges. And all the melee characters are somewhere in between. Support clasess are useful in all pvp.

Well, I woudl say you are correct.. necro and hawkeye. I've also seen that Daggers might be getting a huge boost after this next update. Obviously, in group pvp, all classes are needed and have a role. But if you want to be a damage dealer then sure... Archers, mages,, daggers.

They said the new Euro server would be coming in April. It is not clear if they will be allowing server transfers there so you can decide how best to proceed.

Yes... this game is about clan politics and pvp. It also has a huge PvE grind component.

it defintly has some hardcore pvp with lots off polotics involoved, the 3 classes you statet are also good for pvp, the Hawkeye is the best when fully buffed, then the Nercomancer is also very good and a lot better then the others with only a few buffs.

Then the Tresure Hunter isent bad either but having ranged attacks in l2 means a lot in most pvp's so you wont be the first one to die.

they;s a lot off things you should know about pvp in l2 tho with thoes 3 classes you statet you likely have to reach 7x + and get good gear to be off any use.

and you lose exp when dying to another player from 1 to 51 it;s 8 to 4 % exp you lose and it goes lower the higher lvl you get, then at 52 to 75 you lose 4% exp. after 76 + the exp loss % is greatly reduced.

But if it's a player from a clan your at war with the exp loss is 1/4 off normal same goes with castle siege's or fortress if both people are registred as attacker's or defender's, they is however charm's that make you lose no exp in siege's or fortresses.

It's not very balanced any class can die off 1 to 3 critical's and when people are fully buffed it happens a lot,  not to mention thoes who are lvl 80 are very powerfull they can kill a entire siege force or make all they own clan member's invincebel for 30 minute's

when the new patch come's they's gonna be buff's to reducede critical damgede and such so people will last longer but they also increase the lvl cap from 80 to 85 and new skill's for thoes lvl's witch i can't even imagine what they do

btw this isen't all the negatives they's a lot more and you should read about it before you start up in l2

The same can be said of Elven Elders, Temple Knights, Sword Singers, well pretty much any non mage non rogue class.  The exception to this is Bishops.  Every pvp party needs one.

As a new player to the game I would, temper my expectations about PvP. After 3 yrs you are not likely to "catch up" to the high level players any time soon. The average legit levelling curve is anywhere from 18 - 24 months to get into the "end game" and that depends on how many hours you play per week, and how lucky you are in being able to craft you "end game' equipment successfully.

Joining a clan may alleviate some of those issues, however, there are no shortcuts (none legal anyway)  to the level curve.

Good PvP takes levels, gear and a thorough understanding of the mechanics of the game. Notwithstanding all the other enablers like having sufficient consumables and successfull skill over enchants.

Everything in L2 is earnt, levels, equipment, consumables......the "privilege" to PvP is no different.

Hey now there's a flashback to the "bad old days". Yes indeed, I am he :) and yes I do remember your characters name from the clan list. It has been a long time indeed. The Fahrig days are now only a faded memory, kept alive by some choice screenshots. Infact Amberdrake (EllieBelly) has some Fahrig screenies on her website. But yeah lots of good memories there, I still have Mantien's first fraps attempt from the Dion siege. Having said that the game is still as exciting and challenging as it was, considering it has changed in some fundamental ways, its certainly proven itself to be a good successor to EQ1 for me.

Its great to hear that you're looking to come back to the game. Look me up if you're still intending to play on Kain.

You cannot transfer your character to Luna right after the server launch. After a certain amount of time dunno exactly when .

For me the best character to use is abyss walker.  a Dagger type.. they have baskstab & deadly blow which hit critical damage to the player.  It directly hit your Hp. ;) ;) ;)
