My biggest concern

Hi,

yesterday i joined an instance group (not WoW). The journey started quite smooth. We had a minor comunication error on the first boss and wiped. No big deal, happens and it easy to reach him again. Still two players allready wanted to drop group. From the conversation in chat it was obvious that i was with a bunch of raider alts.

We got it sorted and finished the instance without any further problem. The last boss droped oen of the best items for my class. Still all rolled need and i didnt get it. I didnt say anything, those raiders dont understand what such an item means for a non raider. For them its just money.

I got a quest update from the boss and asked the group to help me finsih it. Its a named just outside the instance. Takes 3 minutes to kill him. I didnt get any help. "I raid in 15 was the answer".

The game was once a good game, full of helpful people. Not anymore. So many players are now selfish and non-social. It really hurts.

My biggest concern for AoC is that it will go down a similar road. What a waste of time it would be then. Mark my words DEVs. No mountain of money is able to wash away the smelly filth from you if you produce games for such people.

Newsflash:  All games and real life dont have people that you like.  God with everything you do, u may get people you like and dont like, not everyone is going to hold hands and have tea parties and say yes sir, no sir.

In every signle game that is online and multiplayers you get people that are nice and some that are not.  i dont understand whats the problem.

This is why I love DDO's looting scheme.  Don't get me wrong, I think DDO is one of the worst MMORPGs out there because there is nothing to do ingame once the dungeon crawling is over.  Saying that, the loot system in DDO is by far the absolute best loot system I've seen in any game, ever.  Unless it is a boss mob, everyone loots the chest to get out their share of the booty.  No one can ninja your share of the loot.  On raid loot, that wouldn't happen because the leader can see what the loot is, link it, and give a shard to the person who can actually use the said items.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

EvE online has the best looting system, ive never ever seen someone ninja a mod in 2 years of playing, and im talking about people you group with to complete missions or do exploration sites.Ive grouped with people I just met to do exploration sites/missions and they never ninjaed anything.

Maibe it's because the fact that if they mess with you they might loose their ship or people are just nice and faire.

The problem is that it is getting out of hand. And i have NO choice in a MMO. All i see is a rendered toon on my screen. In RL i can look at a person and see who he is. In real life i wouldnt waste a single second on such people.

Players are humans. Be it PvE or PvP. You are dealing with human beings and people should act like that. Other players are NOT NPC to farm for faction and money. Its almost like treating humans like animals. Are you upset if a cheater is killing you over and over again in PvP ? Just because he uses hack #32 ? He treats you like an NPC, not a like a human being. Do you like it if he is jumping on you "spit spit pwnd yo n00b lol!1!1!! while he just won with a hack and you never had a chance ?

The only power on earth to stop this are the DEVs. It is an ethic decission. Quality mechanics over cash. Its just that simple. The game i mentioned worked for years without need/greed buttons. But the WoW whiners always get what they want. No matter if the function helps or just does the opposite and introduces another anti-social BS.

This wasnt about the loot only. I dont care. It will drop again. Well, maybe not within the next 33 days :P hehe. Thats why i even care less about this item !! But somehow the MMO world has to get rid of this. People without any human behavior ruin any game and soon enough the whole industry. Or should i say the industry is allready ruined ? Game programming is a craetive thing and its like with any creation. You are responsible. No matter if you build a-bombs or just a frankenstein monster. Its your child and you are responsible.

However. AoC will be my last game to tyr out. If it fails for some reasons the whole industry lost another customer.

You just need to get with a cool mature guild to do end game instances with.  Also one to do end game large scale PVP sieges with.  I know in WoW that a good mature guild is hard to find, but in AoC there are already several being created.  Some with more than 200 members already.  Surround yourself with people that have a similar mindset as you and you will have the most fun you've ever had in a game.
