What? hahahaha i almost had finished the unzip, though i got an error right now and doubt it worked anyway. Anyone wants an unused beta key ? hahaha, i love AoC devs, i will make my review very soon, game was totally amazing, i fighted with gamespot, torrent and pvped with the dumb AoC installeer, it was really fun this weekend. Thanks AoC, i had a great experience.
Blade with whom i have lived, blade with whom I now die. Serve right and justice one last time. Seek one last heart of evil. Still one last life of pain. Cut well old friend. Then farewell!
Getting the client was like pulling teeth for me and not made any easier by people laughing about what an easy time they had. Fortunately more helpful people posted alternates and I stopped using Gamespot's official links or their 'recommended' torrent since they were all garbage.
Once I got the game running I will say it was entertaining. It's hard to tell with such a limited exporuse to the content but Funcom seems to have done a good job. I'm interested in seeing what the final release will be like.
Thanks for a terrific weekend! Had some crashes, a few lag issues and some places where I dropped out of the map. Some classes need tweaking (yes, I am talking about you, all you Tempests of Set!), but it was definitively fun playing Age of Conan. I'll buy it.
I had a blast too, the gamespot downloader was iffy, but I did get my client downloaded on time with little tweaking.
The game was not perfect, but that was to be expected. It run pretty good too not counting an odd crash here and there, also the servers seem to be very stable. All in all a positive experience that reassured me that pre-ordering was a right idea.
8hr download, flawless install. One crash as I exited the game..nothing major.
I can't believe it even RAN on this PC, much less SO well. I'm still finishing my new rig, but I am really impressed with the performance on this lower/mid range machine.
Edit: I should mention that I didn't use Lamespot's installer, used Funcom's instead.

I miss my Herald of Xotli now, also assassin, ranger, barbarian, and saving the half naked chick with the sexy voice tied up.
