WTF how do i get a key?!

i go to the site about a min after comrade notifys since i was heating up pizza and i get no download button or anything WTF?!

don't depend on Comrade. half the time it sends out late alerts.
I work from home
- I didnt have Comrade installed for 1st batch
but I did see Comrade *timely* notices for Batches 2, 3, 4
--- and I got in with Batch 2
Comrade has around 1 minute delay but still gives you plenty of time to get a key if you are at your computer when it notifies you.
Yesterday had only 2 batches, today has 3
-- the batches may be smaller today

Yeah Comrade has about a minute or two delay. Though the page seems to go up a minute or two before the tick of another hour.
Best bet is to be around during the "Coming Soon" hour the minutes before the next hour, and click like a madman.
So I just got Comrad, do I just wait for teamfileplanet to notify me? ive been hearing that if you really want into beta to keep on refreshing.....what do i refresh and how?

but I did have the Beta page ready when Comrade notified me

Make sure you are logged into Fileplanet and wait on the page. As Nadia said, once you see 'Coming Soon' get ready to refresh. Approximately 1 hour after 'Coming Soon' tag went up that the batch was ready for distribution.
I was doing a refresh every 2-3 minutes and after one F5 the page hesitated during load so I knew I was in. All the keys (no idea how many) were gone in less than 5 minutes.
(Batch 2 FTW!)
For me Comrade chimed in about a minute after my refesh had me in and the keys were gone 2-3 minutes after that (maybe a bit less).
I got lucky this morning. I usually leave for work around 8-8:30 am cst but this morning a friend of mine and I were talkin about this beta. When I logged on to fp, I saw the "coming soon" on the window. I told myself I will give it till 9 am and then Im leaving. Just when 9am hit, it still wasnt up. I grabbed my keys to goto work and figured I would give it 1 last shot b4 I left and as soon as I hit refresh, the window pops up about getting the key. I almost shit my pants. I got the key, started downloading the client and went to work.
yeah I think the whole fileplanet thing is a complete joke. I ALREADY PAY FOR MY FOUNDER CLUB MEMBERSHIP and yet I have to refresh some stupid page with no real point ( hint: they're not even doing ads on this page ) to get a key. Just send me the[MOD EDIT] key and quit wasting my time sending me stupid emails about a page that "might" distribute a key.

No. If you'd calm down and take the time to read you'd know to install Comrade and let it run in the background to alert you when a new batch is ready live.
Use web-site watcher to watch the beta page. Set it to scan every 10 seconds and also set it to send out an audio alert. Also set web-site watcher to open the beta page on the alert as well.
Worked out well for me. Got the key on the second batch.
Comrad was late on sending the notify message. I was half way through getting the key when I got the comrad alert.

If I sub for fileplanet. Do I have to accept the free magazine subscription? I know how they work, and at the end of the subscription they send you a letter where you have to un-subscribe and if you don't they pay you again.
Been with them for years and never got a magazine.

You don't get a key unless you pay for the subscription at FilePlanet! kinda sucks but that's the only way. If you like the game that much it may be worth just paying for the subscription to download the file.
So much for a game geared more for adults. You kids have fun jumping through hoops to get into beta.

That's what I say. I'll just wait till open beta or release to play it. Review are a money saver.

Thing is they are offering it with the subscription. Is there a way to just decline it?
Lamest thing ever...having to pay at least $15 just to have a *chance* of getting into Open Beta!?! Lol, no thanks. If you ask me, stress testing their product is just as important to them as it is to us so we should not be getting charged a silly fee to a third party company to do it. Sounds like a pretty greedy way to gouge people for as much money as they can. Again...no thanks.
I agree with you, but you only have to pay $7.90 for your "chance". The website is a bit misleading, so you might think a 3-month sub is needed (while 1 month is in fact sufficient).
I would never install anything named Comrade on my computer and I certainly wouldn't leave it running in the background. Have you ever seen the logo for Comrade. It reeks of spyware.
I sat and hit the beta link every few mins for about 2 hours. Each time it said temp_closed.html I hit back.
For anyone who played UO, it reminded me of the days of waiting for a house to collapse!!! Who would have thought getting a key would be an MMO grind in itself!

Now you can enter the competition on this website to get a Fileplanet account. Though your chances of getting a key even if you do have a Fileplanet account is slim to nil. Its very popular and the keys usually go after the first 5 minutes. So you might have to wait to either get a trial or blindly buy it on a whim.
Or you can continuea trying until you get one. I read in a post about someone picking it about 10 am pst.
