anyone considering amazon.com for the bow?

I really dont even know what to make of this item, especially since I dont know if items are transferable between chars(some items soulbound)  would I be pissed if i went through them and I get a fun-bow that shoots hearts and rainbows for 1 damage?

I preordered from Amazon. Here is what they say:

The Amazon Curved Bow becomes available to characters at level 25 and is the finest bow available at that level. The Amazon Curved Bow can be used by Rangers, Barbarians, Bear Shaman, and Tempests of Set and will be very helpful for mid-level characters.

Personally, by the time I'm 40 (if I recall that is the level when you get the free mount), I will have enough money to buy a mount. I'd rather have a weapon useable earlier than a mount that I cant pick out.

what class will you be playing though?  from what ive seen in my short mmo exp, ranged weps are more of a novality for melee chars and such. this game says it will be different though, so I dunno.

I suppose it is how you read into it, but they say characters, which makes me think that it is like WoW, you can redeem them on all of your characters. But it might only be one character, i honestly dont know. But I plan to play several different characters, one of them will be one or more of the compatible classes. I havn't decided fully what will be my main character yet.

ive ordered from the UK so ordered from play.com and have got the rhino i believe. TBH mounts in games usually cost a bomb and you spend a large amount of the money saved up on the mount, i prefer having that than having an item i will use mid level say 20-40 since i will grow out of that weapon in now time at all whereas i will have the rhino forever.

    Currently playing : Darkfall
    Character name : Aeola Anara
Played: Almost every P2P MMO you can get your hands on, notably:
Daoc, SWG, LOTRO, WAR, AoC + Dozens more

Now I am not sure, as I am not in beta or anything, and honestly I havn't read a whole lot into this game. But what is the speed going to be like? Is the rhinos and elephants the max speed that you can ever get, or are there going to be faster mounts available? (I hate compairing to wow, but I am) kind of like regular and epic mounts in WoW?

Ya, I pre-ordered from amazon.com and got my code to use on May 1st for both the Bow and signing up for the 3-day pre-play (which, I pray to Set, Crom, Mitra, God, and ect that I don't have to download another client version after already having downloaded the PvP weekend and the Open Beta).   But, I'm aiming for the Ranger or the Barbarian, which you'd be suprised how often the Barb uses the bow. Expecially sneaking up on someone who's jumping another player and finding that sweet spot to shot him/her without them knowing what's going on.

I ordered through Amazon only because I usually buy stuff from there online and have never had a problem with them.

I'll let ya know how the bow works out after I shoot someone in the face!

question about the amazon.com preorder.  on their site it doesnt specify preorder, but does say avail for preorder.  how do you know you are getting preorder?  im obviously pre-ordering the game but does that mean its autopreorder for the bow code?

I'm ordering from Amazon.co.uk and buying now before release = automatic pre-order.

As for the bow you have a bow for 8 characters per account, so 8 bows altogether 1 per character. As to what the bow is like in combat I have no idea but I'll be playing a Dark Templar anyway. Maybe my GF will try it out.

You get the bow at lvl 25, i would think by the time you hit lvl 40 it would be obsolete. they say lvling is similar to wow so thats less than 5 days use. Maybe it lvls with you or something.

Word on the street on the mounts is that they come at level 1 for preorder code people instead of level 40.  As for the bow, the devs have stated that it's useful for about 20 levels, then you can find better.

That must refer to the PvE levels, but I wonder what bearing it has on the PvP levels?
