possible release date

just a short notice that Codemasters is now advertising JGE as part of their 2008 lineup to games distributors and retailers in Europe. The release date they mention is Autumn 2008.

The Codemasters text implies that the game will focus on faction wars, dogfights and missions (!) and that its target group is experienced MMO veterans.

Well, i dont know if its old news for the people here. i decided to post as i only received this information today and i assume it was published less than a week ago from Codemasters.

There s also a mention for a Lotro expansion (which i have posted in the relevant section).

I am really looking forward to JGE. I did try JG once, and would really like to see a newer version of this game.

I don't think releasing the game this Autumn is a good idea...I get the feeling it won't be ready..

I heard late 2008 as a possible release. Obviously, provided the beta goes smoothly.

Meaning that they will not release the game untill they feel that it is ready for the people waiting.

I am really hoping this will be kind of a cross between Eve and Earth and Beyond but not exactly. I am definitely passing up AoC and Warhammer and waiting for this game.

I am really hoping the dev do what they have been saying they are trying to accomplish with this.

    When it's done (TM)

    Take your pick ^^

Meanwhile Codemasters can go hump a tree

To the devs: don't release it until it's done. As much as I hate waiting, I would prefer to play a MMO that is largely ready to play than one that feels like a beta.

AOC (Age Of Conan) and POTBS (Pirates of the Burning Sea) are both good examples of what happens when the game isn't ready for release and those two games felt like I was paying 15 bucks a month for a beta invite.

Inside word is,  this game is much closer to release than we think.  The Devs have a clear vision and are all pros.  We will be playing this by the end of the year....

Recent anouncment from Codemasters was spring 2009.That said Net Devil will release when they are ready not when Codemasters dictate. Certainly more realistic than the 4th 1/4 predicted as we are not even in Beta yet,

They wont release it until its ready but if beta goes well I could see a late 2008 release

i believe that the game could be released in late 2008, but beta would have to start soon, im almost 100% sure, though, that if the 2008 release date isnt met then Q1 2009 would be very likely

It'll come out somewhere between when the bean counters say it should come out and when it would be complete.  That's not going to be in 2008, no way.

Planned features will be cut/pushed back to make release.  You can stick your head in the sand and brown your nose all you want.  There are planned release scheduals all the way through development.  The dates get continually updated and moved back as reality dictates.

Based on the length of beta for the original JG and the size of the company currently early summer through late fall 2009 would be a very likely timeframe for release...reality may push that back even farther.
