Alright, I want to step away from all the performance complaints, and take a look at PvP a bit. Now I don't want to discuss that it all will be perfect when it comes out, I want to understand how everyone feels about the way PvP is balanced in open beta client.
I have spend around 2 hours in mini games today, to get feel for it. My biggest concern was for class balance itself (or the lack of there of). I have been playing a Bear Shaman, every time I got killed was by getting 1 hit killed from behind or from necro/demi putting their pets on me and stunning me with their spells to a point where I had to stand there for 10 seconds and watch my char die.
I have then came back with a shadow knight, and it felt much the same way, each time I would get stunned by a spell and then get destroyed before I can do anything about it, or get killed by rogues.
Anyone else had same feeling, or what are everyone else thinks on class balance?

Negative aspects of AoC
1) Ranger needs a huge nerf, they seriously one shot kids left and right for over 700 damage and the recent nerf they put in today really didn't do much. They still are over powered, with their insane snares, stuns, and dmg output.
2) STUNS! need to be fixed FunCom! asap before launch please!, seriously the stuns they have in this game are so bad that they litterally stun you until you die. And it isn't like a kidney punch+vanish+cheapshot from a rogue, "that remark is torward current or ex wow players". IT is more like Cheapshot!....still stunned.....still stuned....dead!.
3) Back on topic with the stuns, this kinda goes with number 2. But for the most part, some classes do not have stuns at level 20 from what i have seen. So this makes it very unfair. They have knockbacks that have such a short duration that by the time your opponet flies 2 meters from the knockback, he is up by the time you are at him trying to wail on him while he is on the ground. So yes really! really! short duration.

The "stun" is what a bunch of people are calling demonologists root spell, which lasts 12 seconds and DOES NOT BREAK at all, so a demonologist can "stun" a melee class so to speak, because he CAN NOT move until he is dead from the demo's nukes, and it only takes about 4 demo nukes to kill the toughest tank

Actually posts that you linked describe my problem pretty much dead on, it feels like people die too fast in PvP. Now I do realize that this is a fast paced game, but the fact that you last under 5 seconds is retarded.

rangers don't have the same 1 shot ability that they had in the pvp beta. but they still have amazing survivablity. rangers can have more hp then a concorer, but mainly the maps gives rangers an advantage most of the time, in the mini games at least.
stuns are still an instant win. 12 sec stuns will get you killed no matter what. once you cast a spell it will always go through, no matter what. you could run past 2 walls and 100 yards but still will get hit by it.
every melee class can get a stun proc but it's very short. kiting melee is still a big problem. you can kite a melee endlessly untill your able to stealth again. hell you could kite a caster till you get stealth, just a bit harder.
most of what he quoted is still a problem. but balance always takes time, and we haven't really seen anything about end game pvp so who knows if anything needs fixing. of course theres always some tweaking to be done.
We can speculate about post level 20 combat. All you need to do is some simple research, you think mechanics will somehow drastically change for no reason? The root will also becomes a 20 second root at higher level and I see no root break ability on any of the guardian or conqueror feets
If you played the pvp beta or watch some videos you would know what I'm talking about, this game is not complicated, the only thing that changes when you gain levels is your damage for most melee classes, the soldiers get zero CC breakers, and classes need to be balanced by lvl 20, not until lvl 80
i was in the pvp beta and i'm in the open beta now, only doing pvp games since i'm lvl 13. i was an assassin for both. i was agreeing that roots seemed to be overpowered at that lvl. i just would like to wait until i know more about pvp before saying something needs to be nerfed. expecially since it's not even launced yet.We can speculate about post level 20 combat. what class did you play in pvp beta?
TSSSSS........ I'm only playing AoC for the graphix, pve and NOT PVP because it just suck balls most boring ever... WoW was better or it is better..
