If I remember correctly (and I rarely do), I thought the final Elven class was supposed to be officially announced in the April newsletter. Did I miss it somewhere? Or was this information not provided?
I'm eagerly awaiting this information to work with a few friends on conceptualizing our classes and party for launch.
Any response is greatly appreciated!

Is the final class for high elves an offensive or defensive tank class? The Swordmaster seems like an offensive tank - no shield, but then I read somewhere it is a defensive tank.
Although the classes are hybridized in different ways Dreschler said that at launch each race will basically have 1 healer, 1 offensive tank, 1 defensive tank, and one ranged/pet class. Again I know these definitions are not set in cement but that is basically the way it will work.
1 Tank
1 Melee DPS
1 Range DPS
1 Support/Healer/Nuker
The last class will be a melee dps character.
It seems like most ppl just asks questions without even trying to figur it out themselfs first, so sorry if i made you angry by writing this, its just seems to be a basic problem on this WAR forum, and im really annoyd by it ...
does it say somewhere that swordmasters can't use shields?
its possible they could wield a 1her and a shield
die.
White Lion's (heavy melee) are traditionally 2h Axe weilding woodsman with their lion pet. They supposedly changed a bit of lore to have them capture a lion cub in the initiation process or something, so I wonder. Anyway, that would make sense. Because then both faction have a pet class.
The last playable demo at NY comicon had the tome of knowledge available. in the tome you can clearly see each race, chaos, empire, high elves ect... each race has 5 entires. 1 for general and 1 for each class that happens to be in the game. with that said... there is an entry for white lion.
if we go by warhammer lore and use a little theory craft. white lion will be an offensive melee class that uses 2handed 2xes and wears leather/furs and pelts. He will have a pet lion fight along with him. so Im guessing you will be able to perform diferent moves with the lion and master alike. like "rake" may be a bleed over time attack for your lion and you will have a move called evicerate which does heavy damage but only works if your opponent is bleeding because of "rake". because it is a "light tank" you can also expect for alot of posstional abilities. like attacks from the rear and side that deal the most damage... as mythic feels light tanks should never be going toe to toe with anyone.
so there you have it.

Well, one has to use a bit of deduction to find out the answer.
First, its a fact that the order side NEED a pet class, as they dont have one yet.
Second, we KNOW that it has to be a melee dps based class due to the fact that a melee dps class is the only one missing from the elves.
Thirdly, we also know for a fact that there has been tons of entries of the white lions of c(not sure of the rest of the spelling) is in the lore throughout warhammer and that they deal with lions(a possible pet).
Forth, is the fact that we know that the devs listen to the players just from reports of beta players... and we also know that a lot of the beta testers/players like us have been asking for the white lions w/pets and melee.
So..... in conclusion, after adding all the above fact together, logically and theoretically the white lions are already set in stone. It is only a matter of time before the devs unravel the concept art and class....
Just my views on the matter.

I must admit... the swordmaster is very offensive. I would compare him to the 2h spec hero of hibernia DAoC only with anti magic ability insted of spirit of the hunt. but they are greatly offensive so I wonder how crazy types of offensive the white lion will be
If you look at the range of miniatures from the tabletop game on the games workshop website you can see that there's not a whole lot of range available as far as units they could pick. The class needs to be melee dps (to fill that slot) and most of the units not already taken are either mounted or wear heavy armor, or stuff like that. This would lead me to believe that the White Lions are indeed the next career choice.
Add to that the fact that order doesn't have a pet class, and if you consider the massive "popularity" of hunters in WoW, it's evident that people like having pets. I don't know much about the white lions but if the lore suggests that they have pets, I think it would be a natural fit.

There is an interesting thread on this over at Warhammer Alliance.. and indeed some unofficial polling suggested that this would indeed be a very popular class, especially with the ladies. Everyone likes a pet kitty!
(Edit for spelling.)
