is Conan really any good ?

ive pre-ordered this game a while back now and have been given the chance to have a 3 day early start with the game. ( just like everyone else in the world )

trouble is i cant get on to the forums never mind the Conan web site to start my early start in to the game.

So with all the fuss about this game, Is it really going to be worth the wait to play this game ?

Definetly, everything works now, no crash and no lag, everything is just perfect. Loading screen improvents from beta > EA is huge. The only thing is that it seems that they have lowered the model graphics, cause i recall from the beta the models looked better than it do now, but maybe it's just me i dunno.

Pre ordering doesnt give you acces to a "early start"

You have to pay a aditionel 5$ on there site to get the early start acces, wich was a "limited" offer.

This game is good ONLY if you have a really good gaming system.  That means a good graphics card, preferably a 8800 or better system, lots of memory 3-4gb, and fast hard disks.

The is mandatory if you want to pvp, if you are getting low fps in this game the guy with the faster system will own you.

So yes it is a very good game if you have the system to play it.

Conan is a dud. Hype about off line (preloaded pixeld graphics), but this has nothing to do with gameplay and Multi Mass On lIne Role Playing Games.
It's a downgraded Oblivion graphics disaster put on line for kiddies who like nudity and chopping heads off. But in itself it is a massive backstep in MMORPG design.
I would call it "Age of loading". Common 5(!) FULL minutes watching a loading screen to enter a dungeon. No way this is gonna work past level 20 because of its tech specs (hard disks DO spin too slow).
It is a DISGRACE that this product even gets a lable of MMORPG.

Sorry but I just don't know where to start with this lot. I don't post here much, but I just can't let this go because imho it is completely false information. Take everything quoted and basically reverse it. The FPS is fine, there is almost no lag included places where there are plenty of other people, and it is far far from a disaster. The difference between Beta and EA is phenominal, and the loading screens take seconds now.

I've been around for most mmo launches and this is the smoothest I can remember, of course it is far to ealry to really judge the game, but on early impressions Funcom are off to a fantastic start, they have released a game that runs great, with stable servers (so far)and that most importantly is fun to play.

Sure, it might not be for everybody, but I do find it funny that some people criticise some MMO's so much that it is almost like they hope they will fail, well imho and experience I can see Conan only becoming a success, and I personally hope it does very well.

Well Mark glad you are having a good experience.  A lot of us are NOT.

If you don't have lots of memory, a good if not great graphics card you need to expect less than optimal performance in this game even with the release client.

So you are the one spreading false rumors not the other guy!

And if you want to pvp, only high end gaming systems need apply!

game runs almost perfect for me with 4 gigs of ram vista home 64 amd 4200 and a 8800gts very fun game

In my personal opinion, having played through beta... I honestly think this game has the potential to be the best MMORPG around.  It's solid now, but with the amount of fine tuning and polish that will go in over the next few months while the money rolls in, I expect the game will really take off in a big way as it deserves to.
