Granted there ARE probably a lot of people that just didn't register their keys or something bugging them too, they haven't yet seemed to aknowledge that there are paying customers that can't get in. (Or maybe they have, but I wouldn't know since I cant read the forums.)

You make it sound like they are doing this on purpose, but I'm pretty sure it's an error. To be honest, that kind of makes them look even worse, since if they were doing it on purpose they could at least say they know what they are doing. As it is, they look kinda dumb since people who are paying customers can't get on the official forums and they either don't realize there's a real problem out here or they can't figure out how to fix it. Either way makes them look less than competent.
I think the concern is that they are not aware of the issue. A lot of people simply didn't figure out how to activate their forum accounts. OThers are complaining that they can't read them when they don't have paid game accounts.
I'm not sure they're aware there is even a problem. There are quite a few of us, obviously, but how do we communicate that this is happening when we're getting shuffled off with the people who either aren't supposed to have forum access or simply didn't set their access up yet?
I'm sure that they're aware that a problem exists. But with the priorities they have to look at, I expect the forum accounts to be down a few pegs, below "Trader NPCs" and "Area with a Level Exploit".
The support staff are simply sending out stupid automated emails in order to prove to their bosses that they "communicated".
I don't expect to be able to get in at least through the end of May.
Its two entirely different teams though. The group dealing with in game exploits likely has nothing to do with forums and activation.
Now if people are having trouble with their accounts, with billing / eligibility for various things, those are the kinds of issues that might be occupying the people that would fix the forum issues.
Same problem here, I've gotten two useless autoreplys. My pettition clearly stated I had a problem with the forums and their solution was to direct me to some support posts on the forums. wtf. I gave up, Funcom is in the dark ages customer support-wise, I really hope they aren't responsibile for any decision making with regards to the game itself. They should never have banned the accounts in the first place, yeah they screwed up giving non-EA people access, but banning us from the forums just made things worse.
I had a buddy of mine contact the forum admin on my behalf. They are asking me to change my login (again) and then they will manually lift my "ban". I hope this works out. You guys might want to try this also if you've got a friend with access.
I contacted in game support and finally got through to a live intelligent GM who was unable unfortunately to solve the problem. In game CS doesn't have access to forum related stuff so the only way that we'll be able to fix this issue is by having mods/admins on the board manually fix our access.
I've emailed their community team about this and will be sure to relay the information that there are a lot of people experiencing this issue so hopefully they can do an overall fix.
Well, I got my "ban " lifted and am now able to access the forums again. I had to change my login name but it's not the end of the world. I'd change it back but I'm not gonna risk it. I pm'd the forum mod over there to see if there is another avenue for others in the same position to get thier account reinstated. I'll let you know if I get a response.
Well, guys... I changed my info last night before I went to bed, to give it another shot... and it seems to be working today... I have access now with a new username/password.
Note: I am not using my original forum name atm... I don't know if I want to risk switching it back yet?

Sounds like you are on the wrong webpage if you are getting linked to AO.
Hey guys, I just went to the forums today and I have access! Same usename/password, I didn't change anything. I did email the community team yesterday but hadn't gotten a response back.
Somehow just ignoring the issue I am now able to enter the forums. They probably just did a round of fixing in the last day so maybe just go give it another try.

Well they fixed me up either sunday or monday and i can get in now finally. All i can say is, if your able to play the game and your enjoying it, dont bother with the forums. Its nothing but trashed by people ass aching about their moms. There is very little in the way of help for quests, hints, or constructive gameplay discussion right now.
What i wish funcom would do is put their announcement and patch notes section of the forum into anonymous access so everyone can read it whether or not they have the game.
