I'll give you some choices and I am dead serious abouth this to
Get a computer with uber $%^* on it like dual core, 4 gigs of RAM, 8800 GT or two 9600s and vistas
Get a computer that is $%^* and can't run WOW on high settings
Go to a event and get a closed beta pass along with the first two I listed
Know someone in EA/Mythic (the fat guy in the video looking at how many Orc teeth people's system have preferably).
Make a fansite, get it on the official EA/Mythic forums and tell them you need a beta pass
Draw some Warhammer pictures and post them on Warhammer Alliance in the contests they have all the time (same people have won about 6 passes already for friends).
Straight up wait for one of the important guys like Paul or Jeff to show up at the EA/Mythic development center and take them at gun point, demanding a beta pass
This pretty much sums it up right here cause being a veteran member for 1 year doesn't get you jack $%^*, buying the BOOM studio comic book doesn't get you jack $%^* and having a mid grade system doesn't get you jack $%^*, when it comes to closed beta access.
. . .And I believe they only send out invites once a month, at the beginning of the month. I could be wrong about it, but they've already chosen May's winners, so. . .go figure.
Mainly high end computers in beta right now. Mid to low aren't invited to beta yet due to lack of slider capabilities on graphics.
They're strict about the beta testers they let in, since they do not have graphical sliders in yet and thus want the higher end computers, once you can turn down the settings they'll have more mid-range and low-range computers.
whats stopping you from preordering the collectors and then just canceling it once you get into beta?
off topic: its funny reading that page. all the stuff people gave funcom grief over, buying early acess and ingame bonuses etc. mythic are doing the same thing.

They send you a preorder box right after you preorder and charge your creditcard for the game. Thats how it is in Denmark, I heard in USA you can return a MMORPG even after you made an account with the CD-keys

I don’t think a preorder will help out anyone's chances. I know I have preordered a CE edition myself and 100% paid for so all I have to do is pick up the game. Also I registered for the closed beta last year and I have not received any code to access the beta. Also my system specs are extremely high and I believe that is something they are looking for to gain access to the beta.
Personal I believe it is just random luck to get into the beta and I would not really get your hopes up to gain access.
I'm not holding my breath about getting into beta. Having an older dual core computer, I can still do quite well with it and will be able to run WAR on it without any problems. As much as I want to be in beta like everyone else, I can wait.
if some get invied for not preorder then some do get invited with high end systems (like me) then its random. Yet I signed up over a year ago and have been in other betas.

Is it easier to get in if you preorder the game?

You get a spot in the open beta if you preorder the North American collectors edition (60,000 units)
or the European collectors edition (55,000 units)
