If you don't like a game why are you going out of your way to stop other people from playing it?
Many people are playing and having a good time, including me. I don't go to WoW forums and rant about how much I think the game sucks.
What's the point?
There are some issues, but many people are having a good time despite all the issues, which are getting fixed quickly. Such as the instance switching you brought up.
Different people like different games, not everyone has to like the same game. I played CoX for 4 years and loved it, wasn't popular like WoW but I played what I wanted to play.
People are having fun. Let them, and go find your own game.
To AOCtester: Comparing AoC's launch to Vanguard's puts in serious jeopardly your own credibility I'm afraid.
I don't think AOCtester was talking about the launch. Think he is talking about the state of the game at this point. Vanguard did not bring in enough reveniews in the first 4 months to even mainitain the server cost.
Result = server mergers and no updated to crucial features of the game. Still just minimum amount of staff and work is put into the game now just to keep it running.
AOC is not finished. One month from now the subs WILL have to start pay the srevers and considering that Funcom totally ran out of cash and had to launch the game bearly halffinished - it means that the exact same thing can happen here. But... how many players will spend more than 30 days on this one ? Specially considering that the content is really lacking and totally unpolished in lvl 40+ ? My bet is that very few will. And by very I mean very.
Im in a guild that has build full t1 city now. More and more talk is now in Gchat about how poor the gameplay has become. How buggy it is. And even the leaders are finding it hard to look for positives to go on....
Second - The game seriously lacks content. When LOTRO was launched people complained about lack of content. It was nothing compared to AOC. Most of my guild are casual players. They play no more than 2-3 hours a day. They all have few lvl 40 alts. Why?
This is mathematically not possible. You cant reach 40 on a single character in 3 hours * 9 days = 27 hours. Thats with 3 hours a day. If we cut it down to 2 hours a day you hardly make it out of Tortage.
I just cant wait till it's finished at the moment there is loads for me to do and i still havent tried crafting, so if this is what it's like when its "barely half finishe" then funcom should pat themselves on the back for making such a great game. imagine when it's finished! can't wait.
I am glad u have so much faith , Unfortunatly you will soon discover the truth and will be very disapointed.
The thing is that the poeple who are posting here are not Haters anymore , it's actually poeple who was looking forward to the game and now see that the game was not what it was suposed to be , the so called NEXT GEN mmo with Siege Batlle , Mount combat , DX10 , cool voice on NPC but forgot to tell us it was only on tortage and so on.
I have been defending the game and use to hate those bloody Haters that was talking about something they did not try. Well I did try it , I reached lvl Max , I explored everything , tried crafting but it's buged , I saw that Mount combat was a big joke , we wont see any siege for a long time , and the game is actually very small , well it's an Xbox360 game after all not an MMO.
You couldnt be more wrong! how could you possibly know that i will be dissapointed? and you have already maxed level and tried everything else? in the first 2 weeks of release? and that is after you supported the game without playing it? now youve tried it and done all that? then how could you expect to like this game when you have not experienced 75% of it?
Do you not realise what an RPG is? did you follow any quests? cause thats a lot of reading to max out lol. dont get me wrong i couldnt give a toss who plays and who doesnt. Just dont try to tell me what i like and what i will feel cause you my friend have no idea
I totally agree with you I have only experience 25% of the game and the reason might be because it is only 25% finished and that is exatly the reason why I am so disapointed with it.
And your comment feels just like my old one before I actually maxed out , I did enjoy playing it until I reached lvl max , because I thought it was only the begining of the game , But it was actually the END of it
i do feel for you friend but i dont think the game got it wrong but rather you are in the wrong game. You maxed out and though it was just the begining! whereas i have been playing for 2 weeks and have reached 28...i have been resourcing, grouping, exploring and even following the quest lines ( as in reading them ) and i seem to be having a much better time than most, well not most

in a way it was,,, i feel like you, mostly because the things that should keep us playing are... not there...
crafting? borked
itemization? bugged
quests? non existent
economy? none
social aspect? none
character development? swallow.... stats dont work, itemization is .. well already said....
wanting or not atm this is a leveling game. there is not much apart leveling. And it was really painful for me to understand that because i had some hopes that AOC would get my attention for some time. But even the rpg part is lost along the 60 to 80 level. Cause you dont feel you are roleplaying, you feel you are in an industrial slaughter house, killing everything that can give xp.
If i want to be really honest the last real mmoRPG i played was SWG in its original version . That felt like a rpg. A real one. I remember passing lots of hours without killing anything, exploring the worlds, socializing etc.... WoW is in all aspects a MMOrpg (notice how the MMO is on capital letters, and the rpg part not in capital letters). A pretty good MMO, just not that great on the RPG part.
well im not sorry, but i am glad you spent your money on this game. Always think twice before buying a sports boat, or a luxury car, or a brand-new never before seen gadget on tv infomercials.
I think this game is awesome, i'm enjoying everything about it, i totally disagree, AoC is incredible.
"Sometimes, things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. People are basically good. Honor, courage, virtue mean everything. Power and money, money and power mean nothing. Good always triumphs over evil. Love, True Love Never Dies." Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Here is ONE BIG annoucenment. When Blizzard says it is IN their game it will be IN the game. And better believe it WILL be polished.
? ya, you're right, everything they said would be in their game is in their game,it just didnt make it in on day one. Infact, someone should start a general thread with actual published quotes from developers of all the games in the last 10 years, and see what mmo's released with what content as promised, and how long it took each mmo to release individual content

I have not tried AOC so I will not judge or give any opinions of my own. So basically based on what I've read in this forum there is nothing to do once you reach max lvl? Am I getting that right?
A lot of people may hate on WoW, but one thing I liked about it was that max lvl meant the game was barely starting. After reaching max lvl there is still plenty for me to do on my character that I worked so hard to lvl up (i'm a casual player so I can't reach 70 in 2 weeks like some people). If I got to 70 and then it just ended I would feel sadly dissapointed. It would be like all that work was for nothing.
Another thing, not having any end game content will eventually make the masses pack up and leave. Sure you can just make new characters and get them to max lvl. You all make it sound like the lvling process is quite fun. But do you think that it will stay that way once you've done it 20 times?
Anywho the main point of this was that I was just wondering if there really was no end game at this point. If they don't add something soon then that's just a poor design choice in my opinion. You need something to bring the boys back in.
well OP, im glad you bought the game and deposited $50 into the development / polish kitty. I wll enjoy your contribution..AoC rocks, plain and simple.
When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

can't comment myself on if there is or isnt endgame, but i will say this...
how many months went by from wow's day 1, untill you got to the point of actually even attempting to prepare for endgame? muchless actually doing it? personally for me i think i entered MC (later than most people) for the first time around the year 1 mark, if i remember right...

First , it is like a game of chance - You can have all the specs right - but it doesn't guarantee the game will work. Read the official forums. Some people are completely unable to play the game because of plethora of different reasons. If you are the unlucky one. You will get absolutely no answer from support. Don't even hope for it. Neither will any Funcom worker post anything on Support forum.
Second - The game seriously lacks content. When LOTRO was launched people complained about lack of content. It was nothing compared to AOC. Most of my guild are casual players. They play no more than 2-3 hours a day. They all have few lvl 40 alts. Why? Supposably when you reach lvl 40 there is no more quests to do and you have to grind 40 more levels , in few designated zones. So Funcom developed low level content and hoped to do high level later ... what new ? Leveling is to fast , and it takes a week to hit a brick wall - no more content!
Third - PVP is a joke. Click on yellow arrow next to the map and see how many instances are of each area! I think the areas can not even support 50 players before creating another shard! If someone attacks you, and you feel you are going to lose - click the yellow arrow and PUF! disappear to another instance!!!! And nobody can ever find you. Also good luck finding someone specific. You can not even meet your friends
Forth - Promise first , deliver later (or much later, or never) - There is no DX10 , there is no Battlekeeps...
I am very very sorry for spending my money for this game. I could have invested it in Mass Effect , even Vanguard is better investment...at least it is an MMO
You're right about the instances part. I'm sure that will get fixed. As far as there not being any content after level 40. You're dead wrong. There just aren't enough quests to take your to level 80 alone. You will have to grind some, you will have to run some instances.. I'm currently level 60 and there are still quests in the areas that I am in. If you're going to naysay, at least don't lie to people wanting an accurate review. In fact, they probably shouldn't even consider your opinion valid, since all you ever do is complain and lie about everything for as long as I've seen you post here.

I agree 100% with OP!
Conan is a game, kind of 'online action game'. But its not a MMO at all!
If u dont care about it and dont mind to spend 15 US$ every month in a game with 4829384023 bugs and a 'cloudy future', have fun and go ahead!
Guess what? I was so pissed about this game that i decided to spend more money and i bought a digital copy of Vanguard. So far, im in love with it... its a improved WoW in a sandbox mode. Just what i was looking for...
Cry more. The devs are probably a bit busy, maybe because of a massive game launch? Patch is coming tomorrow, a very large one at that. At least give them a chance.
Fanboy (sometimes spelled fanboi) is a term used to describe an individual who is devoted to a single subject in a fanatical manner, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession. Fanboys remain loyal to their particular obsession.
So anyone that could posibly like this game is a fanboy, lol. I have a word for you

I would agree with the OP in this, if you dont meat specs dont buy this game and except it to work without issues.
AoC is a very good game,IMO. I dont understand why is would matter if the game is a success or failure of you arent going to play? Again we come to the true nature of your post, TROLL!! go back under your bridge.
