well im a super carebear but i want to try pvp with my corp and alliance and i was getting a manticore, they told me i should put 2 sensor damps on (also scripts) ,but i had a question as what they would be useful for since if a interceptor locked and warp scrambled me id use the 2 dampners on him (they told me). Will the dampners make him lose his lock so i could warp off or what do they do and how would they benefit me as a manticore pilot?

What they do is lower the Max targeting range of the targeted ship. Example If a ship can target 100km normally. If you put one damper on them It will cut that range down to 50 KM. Put another damper and then they can only target 25. (this isn't actual amounts I just them to show how they work)
So they help you by if you can't target the asteroid you are trying to mine, then you can kill it. The same happens if your enemy can't target you.
It greatly depends on the ceptorpilot if the loses lock or not. A good pilot will notice it and get closer, but it will be harder for him to dodge your missiles then.
Stealthbombers typically have a few medslots, and putting a tank on them is not really useful. Ewar is the only way, so you will have to go with damps. Jammers on unbonused ships won't do much and are too unreliable.
On the rare occasion I do use a stealth bomber I go against conventional wisdom and fit a web and dampener to damp the ceptor and force him into web range so its easy to insta pop them.
