Have I just grown out of MMORPGs or gaming in general. Cant find it in me to load up any mmorpgs. None fill the void SWG pre cu left.
I cant bring myself to play Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike or any other fast paced FPS because.. well its just point, click, kill....YAWN.
Am I looking for an alternate World because my real life is just that boring also. What is it I'm looking for to entertain me. I dunno

Best thing to do is step away from gaming for the time being. Get interested in some other things for now, like books and the such. Everyone at some point needs a break from things like gaming.

Wow Blondeh you sound just like myself! I to haven't been able to find a home in the gaming world since SWG NGE hit. Yes I have to admit I did stay after CU hit but that wasn't as horrible as NGE. I just now posted to see if anyone on these forums can suggest a new game for me. I hope you find one too. As one person suggested do pick up a hobby it helps. I myself started painting again and working with my beads, but I still miss being in an mmo community. GOod luck!

I stayed when the CU hit and then left about a month later. Then went back 2 months before the NGE hit. I quit the NGE went live. I did resub and try restuss etc but again i quit. I've bene thinking of trying SWg again but after playing a couple months ago (some freebie SOE let vets play for 30 days) for 2 days i didnt noticed anyone on my old home Eclipse. I've bene playing WOW but its just not the same.
I'm looking for that old world of drama and social atmosphere. Really miss making friends and enemies. Miss the old guild city base bashing. Hanging out in the mining outpost. Dueling, chatting to people in the cantina, watching the chaos as a dark jedi master decided to roll into MOP and kill the afk dancers and anyone else in its path.
I was gonna try AoC just for the siege battles but thats being flamed to hell and back
save your money dont go to aoc trust me on this. been their got screwed over by funcom
I can only agree with this. AoC has a lot of potential but right now it's an empty shell. Maybe a few months down the line it will be a game that was promised but for some reason, I highly doubt it.

Hehe, it's funny, despite how much AoC sucks, I'm actually loading it up now simply because I'm bored just like the OP is. Gonna give it a try again, fuck my expectations, this game will never beat them, but now I'm gonna take it easy, enjoy it for the RPG it is (I spose), roll a PvE server, oh and /ingore the OOC channel because it's depressing.

Wish I could do that. The last few patches have driven my FPS into the ground. Used to be steady 30 FPS, now it's barely pushing 10 FPS.
You know I'm thinking I may load WoW up and level my rogue alt. Infact noo i wont the more i think of wow the more i realise its a mindless quest for gear and mroe gear. I really need a good social guild city ravaging mmo

#1 is SWG fun if you go into it with low expectations?
and #2 my advice is to play some Warcraft III or Starcraft Blizzard was a great company before WoW.

I have actually considered vangaurd but when I look at the screen shots it reminds me SOOOO much of EQ2 which I have played.

the other 2 are right. play vanguard i garauntee it wont be a waste of your money/time..it has been fixed up so well and im loving it. it is really fun if you get into a nice social guild. and you dont always have to quest, you can go crafting or diplomacy (which is very fun for me). there are many classes and each of them r very fun. really you should try the game out, its a nice casual game, but it can also be for those of the hardcore genre. If u decide to sign up, play on the seradon server it has the highest pop...and add me im sykotics..ill get you into the guild im in and help you out with the game. OK. ima go back to playing vg..hope i c you there

Yes it's sad but SWG is a mear shell of itself. I too went back last year when they were threatening the city and structure bombings to clear out all the old ghost towns. A friend of mine asked me to please join her to try and save our beloved city. We had spent years building up our player city on Dantooine so I agreed to help out. While we managed to save our city it was still sad to login each day and not see any of our friends names light up on our friends list. We tried to make a go of it but by the end of Christmas we were once again burned out and very saddened by what SOE had done to our most favorite game. We laid down millions of credits in each structure and hoped for the best as we closed our accounts yet again. We had made Tarquinas our home server, and let me just say it's almost totally void of players. When I was playing if I saw 1 single person a week I was shocked. That's how dead the server was, sad but true.
I too was going to try Age of Conan but yes it's being flamed bad. HOwever a friend of mine who is a picky gamer is playing AOC and he loves it. He too was a part of my Star Wars family, so I am torn between sticking to my guns and staying away from AOC at least for another 6 months till they work out most of the bugs and joining my friend now. I still don't think it will be anything like SWG was, that game was just so different compared to the other mmo's out there. I just feel like I'll never find the same community again. If you do find a new game that you like please let me know, I'd be really interested in trying it out as well.

I resubbed to WOW and ran around the new areas from BC. Also been looking over my old games. Quite a few I never finished...Jedi Knight 2, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force 2, Oblivion, all three of the Grand Theft Auto series for pc, dungeon siege, Starfleet Command 1, 2, 3, yada yada yada. I have a hard time finishing pc games. Solo play is boring. I like to play with a friend

So bored that I resub back to WoW... So right now I have 2 P2P mmos (CoX and WoW) and 1 F2P mmo (Mabinogi).... And I'm still bored...
Anyway, guess I'll go load up The Sims.... or make my own mods in SuperPower2 to play around...

Maybe you are yourself a boring person, no offence but there are so many options to do things in real life.
A crap load of different sport types, photography/video filming, socialize with friends and go out, do some business online i.e. ebay or build webpages, get out and explore the world the area where you live and enjoy the nature, watch tv, educate yourself i.e. history or anything and read, save mony and grab a backpack and go travel to see other countries, get a fulltime job, get a girlfriend or wife....the real life is for sure not boring since you dont have much free time.
It all depends on yourself if you are bored or not...
