Planetside (which is an MMOFPSRPG) is getting mechs (giant mechanical robots)...the original computer gaming world article can be found here...

very bad idea, further taking it away from the infantry game, woo another flail to pound everyone into the ground.

I dont think planetside wants to be another one-shot kill infantry game though, perhaps this will make players stay for longer times if theres something real to work for. But then again perhaps thats what the players wanted in the first place, fast easy access and 1 hour sessions of gore-fest...
i beta'd planetside and wasnt overly impressed. Fun for a while but with lacking long-time lure.
