Ok, I always used to love RuneScape. Im always deffending it and recently I posted a thread saying "get over it" to those of you who said RuneScape was Ruinedscape because of pking and the wilderness being taken out. Now, this morning I got on to play..and the graphics are now out. I thought to my self "Yes!! I cant wait!!"...I dont know about you guys..but the graphics..ARE HORRIBLE. Their big and bulgy, you charactor looks horrible, and the new emotes are just..ugh. This may be hipacritical (Dont know if thats spelled right) but I am now one of those who say..RUNESCAPE IS NOW RUINEDSCAPE. I didnt mind the wild being taken out, but theyve gone to far with these graphics. So, you guys can flame me for putting up with this crappy game. I deserve it tbh..

well i have to say great job jagex of the new graphics. and people remember its the beta of it so there are bound to be bugs in it. Only thing the need to do is get rid of click to walk the one thing i think brings the game down now in my opinion.

If I could get fullscreen Id give it a fair chance. I have a intel video card and its the only thing I need to be able to go full screen. I dont know if I have to update it or get a new one all together. Can somone help me? Will I need to buy one? How much will it be? Thanks.

I also think that they should get rid of the click to move. If they added WASD, made the music a little nicer, made the map a hell of a lot bigger....then I would be actively playing runescape most likely. Oh, and I happen to really like the graphics...even though I cannot play it like that yet because i'm not a member anymore.

Problems with their new graphics:

1. Most players played runescape because their computers could not handle the newer games, with the new graphics they are losing thousands more players that cannot afford to upgrade their computers.  I personally have a very sweet computer that can handle anything and everything, but some of my friends that played had their computer held together literally with a yo- yo string. LOL.

2.Even in the "safe mode settings" the game is not loading in tests on computers that used to run the game prior to this update. These players computers are locking up when they try to load the game in safe mode and can't even play the game at all.  Though Jag claims" these are the low detail settings from before "obviously they are not or the game would run as it did before, and in it's current state it is definately not. 

3. Players that were already receiving lag before the updates can't  get the game to run at all.  Yes, after every update Jagex does there usually is a period of extreme lag for many players, even ones with good computers. The problem with this update though is that the lag will not go away even after they work out the bugs for players that were receiving lag before the updates, this lag will now be so severe they will not be able to play at all.

4. Runescape was the "Poor " mans mmorpg, it was played by all of those who could not afford new graphics cards, new computers, or $15 a month to play WOW , with these new updates they have just alienated  a huge chunk of their player base. It is no longer able to play on their outdated computers, and those people cannot afford to go buy new ones. Even on totally updated computers when you log into the low detail  you still have seam trouble when passing through areas.  Not only do those poor players have to buy new computers, they also will be paying almost a dollar more for membership fees because Jagex has added a rate increase along with these updates. Guess those poor guys will be going back to playing online Poker.

 I personally can afford to play other games and have computers that can handle anything so that is what I do. What Jagex can't seem to get through their heads is that  people did not play runescape for it's graphics, and their graphics updates cannot compete with the non browser based engines, so they would be better off focusing on content. Yes, I think the graphics look a lil better, but nothing that I was actually all that impressed with, and definately not something that would have any consideration as to whetehr or not I played a game. I have played games that  greatly impressed me with their graphics, but even those if lacking in content will not hold anyones attention that long. They need to bring back the good content and quit worrying about the insignificant things that really have no bearing on actual gameplay. If anything this update took away from gameplay because of the lag and inconvienance it has caused so many players, not to mention they announced a rate increase with the update. This is typical  of Jagex though they are well known for taking a lot and giving very little back.  Giving players faces on the npc interaction screen is not a substitute for giving their players faces, in fact the npc interaction screen  looked like I was watching a kung fu movie that was poorly translated into English. Their mouth moves but look nothing like the words that should be commin out of their mouths.  It was definately substandard at best. But that is exactly what we come to expect from Jagex these days.
