"Google must divulge the viewing habits of every user who has ever watched any video on YouTube, a US court has ruled."
"The viewing log, which will be handed to Viacom, contains the log-in ID of users, the computer IP address (online identifier) and video clip details.
While the legal battle between the two firms is being contested in the US, it is thought the ruling will apply to YouTube users and their viewing habits everywhere."

Now everyone is going to know about my booty shake video fetish!
Who is going to shift through the hundreds upon hundreds of millions of users that will show up on the list.
Wow this has to break some privacy law somewhere...
You are all just going to have to become comfortable with losing your rights.
You are "safer" as a result.
Privacy law? LMAO!
You're a US american so you prolly don't know about this thing called the Patriot Act...basically gives the US government complete freedom to violate your rights to privacy, amongst other things.
No doubt this is part of some sort of attempt by Viacom to get some of Google's YouTube money, or to extract royalties for any content on YouTube claimed by Viacom.
It's all about Ferengi slimeballs arguing over latinum.
CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

This has nothing to do with the Patriot Act. Also stop flaming. I made a statement you don't have to flame me with some law that everyone knows about. Also, zeitgeist is full of shit. just another conspiracy theory movie.
I hope booty shake videos are not considered child pron!
I don't understand why the Judge just didn't order YouTube to divulge usage logs that left out account names, ip address, other personally identifiable information, etc. Viacom doesn't really need those to make a case against YouTube. All they need is evidence which supports the notion that copyrighted material is being imporoperly posted on YouTube. The personal information is completely unnecessary for this.
More than likely, that judge has never used a computer for anything more than record keeping and e-mail. This is what most of these government agencies and corporations count on when they put these cases before judges.
