Game World?

I've been looking over the official website for WAR, and I have to say that if Mythic pulls off all their advertised content at launch reasonably well, it's going to be a great game.

With that in mind, I do wonder about the overall game world. What is the structure? Is it instanced, or are there just some really big zones? In other words, how open is the game world?

    Instancing (10%)

Scenarios, a few portions of City Siege, and a few PvE dungeons for personal adventuring.

(edit: Oh, and within the open-realm PvE Dungeons the Boss Encounters (ONLY the Boss Encounter) will be instanced to prevent farming/camping)

    Open World (90%)

Everything else will be large open zones (with no instancing).

    Loading Screens

There will be loading screens between tiers, but not between zones in each tier.

There will also be loading screens when you head into a PvE dungeon, or perhaps a Scenario.

Certain things are instances, there are large zones that are instance from tier to tier.

For dungeons the dungeon it self is open, but the bosses are instanced off.

The capital fight has 1 phase where it is instanced(when you are fighting in the streets) and obviously the king is , so you can have your shot at him.

    and obviously scenarios

    i think thats everything.

Thanks guys, that was the image I had in my mind after reading over the gameplay description.

Glad to hear much of the game is an open world with large zones. The one thing that really kills the immersion for me in a game is where you have small zones with lots of instances of the same zone.

Have in mind that they have focused more on the game than on creating a world.

Did you ever use your brain to consider the idea that when he said that he didn't mean the world doesn't feel living and breathing and alive because quite honestly thats part of what makes a game is how alive it feels.   Did you ever consider the idea that when he said this he meant an open sandbox world where you create homes, build furniture and play nancy home crafter instead of big bad warrior?    Since you've not been in beta your stance on this comment is utterly retarded.  Since I have been in beta...I can tell you your way off on your constant trollish repeat of this statement (if you read some of the recent player remarks from events you might want to kick yourself in your own ass).    Like its been said even by the devs people read way to much or way to little into what they say and you are the perfectly example of this once again Altair.

hehe altairzu is just repeating information that was released .

i can totally understand where he is coming from .  he isn't in beta ( i don't think ) so there is no real way to know how the game feels.

Wrong thread alt, he was asking about open zones vs instancing.

The game vs world thread is that way, you must have taken a wrong turn.
