Final Fantasy X! I liked it mostly because of the graphics. I've played some ones that came before X, but they weren't as fun to me. I also bought Final Fantasy X-2. I thought it was what now is Final Fantasy XI. I didn't know they were coming out with two! I bought it for $50. Oh well. Anyways, I beat Final Fantasy X. It was fun. :]

Please don't say Final Fantasy X is better than any other one... unless that one is either X-2 or Mystic Quest.
Oh, I just noticed you said the first mortal gamer sin, "I liked it mostly because of the graphics."
What a terrible sentence, never use it. Graphics mean nothing, except in racing and sports games. It is all about gameplay, story line, and character development in RPGs. Please understand this.
lol. let me rephrase that. I like the graphics in Final Fantasy X. That's not why I played it though. I played it for it's game material and content. It's a fun game but I can't play some of the originals that had such bad graphics you couldn't see what's going on.
Ever play IV or VI? Those are the two best. Bad graphics, incredible story, incredible characters, immersive game play.
Try to get over the visuals. You obviously don't read much... anyone who reads can easily form their own "awesome graphics" in their head while they play the games.

You played VII and thought it had bad graphics? Those were incredible graphics for the time. Not to mention VII is in third place for the best of the series!
I'm not saying it was a horrible game. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did Final Fantasy X. The whole series is great. I also loved Zelda: Orcarina Of Time for the N64. That game was great! :]
I waited in line for 7 hours for Ocarina of Time a 1 hour for Majoras Mask and they were both some of my favorate games ever and the best games on the N64. FFX was a great game, yes. It had a good story [better than FFVII imho] and ok gameplay. FFX-2 was only ok.

Alot of people hate FFX because of the voice acting. But think about it again, how do we know that Cloud or Squall doesn't have a gayass voice?
Tidus is one of the few FF characters to have an attitude or even act like a real human.
Squall and Cloud has rock-hard hearts.
Think about this, if you're father suddenly disappeared for no apparent reason, then your mother cried all day and died eventually, u were left alone, then this huge son of a beast comes and destroys your whole town and your town floods, then you we're sucked into another time which happens to be 1000 years after where you lived. Then after that you find out that your father is the one who destroyed your home city. I think you would be whiny too. No?
If you answered No, then, well, good for you, but I simply don't give a shit because you have a rock-hard heart.
Oh, and btw, some people also think Tidus' clothing sucks and he should learn about it. But that was the clothing from blitzball. Why don't those people say that Wakka looks like a freak also?

7 had they best story to date in my opinion. They pull a nice mind screw on you recealing clouds past, not to mention Ariths death is one of the sadest moments in games. 8 also had a great story but the flaw in 8 for me was lack of character development on the main bad guy. She only totally reveals herself in the end so you never really know her and have the chance to hate her. Sephiroth on the other hand was the first FF villain more hatable then Kefka for me.
whats the point of this thread, there are alot of fun games for the PS2, FFX was ok, but it cant touch the greatness of FF7 & FF3
Ape Escape 2 was a fun PS2 game.
but since this thread has turned into a FF discussion, here's my thoughts:
Favorite FF = Final Fantasy Tactics. Best story, best gameplay. Advance had great gameplay too, I really loved the job system in Advance, I still debate which had better gameplay, but the story was nowhere near as good. Not the best characters, that honor would go to FF7, which i would say has the second best story. Never cried so hard... 7 also had great gameplay, I loved materia, I want it back.

I'm giving you my title as "American FF Fanboi President". I never cried during FF...I knew it was a videogame...
Anyway, the best PS2 game was/is EQ for PS2...I played for a year. I beat FFX in 2 days.
