Warning: I am Dissing WAR

I honestly forsee this game being very bad, ive researched it quite a bit and i'm sure this forum wouldnt agree with me seeing as im not gonna bash wow in this thread but i just forsee WAR being a big dissapointment, it's going to be a grind, no lie - dont tell yourself it wont be, beta gamers can vouche for it, not only will it be a grind, it'll be a slow grind, with classes overranking each other.

Certain classes as in all games will be played over others, but in a game like this where things like the squig herder is against a shaman for dps it's obvious the shaman will be played more often

"well it's all about your play style, that dictates what will be played over other classes"

Not really!! look at other games, one class is always praised over others and with a system with this with so many "unique" classes *cough* old classes being renamed *cough*  many gamers will be swayed into playing the highly advertised classes like the marauder and the shaman but in all honesty the game will just be another ticktacktoe grinder ( i dunno if that's a new term it just made sense to me) Tank goes in, dps goes in, healer heals, mob dead, rinse repeat

Now to compare it to everyone's favorite ashtray WoW, people complain about battlegrounds in wow, but look at the pvp videos released on WAR it looks exactly like a battleground mixed with an fps kind of landscape so it's like runescape+gunz.

I dunno about all of you but i really do just see this game being another pain of a grinder with lack luster quests being shaded by the idea that "lore makes a game" which is utter bull, look how succesful wow is - the only thing most gamers know about Warcraft lore was obtained from warcraft 1 through 3.

So sure it'll have a ton of subscriptions.. i mean who isnt looking for something good? i'm just saying it wont live as long or as steadily as many other games such as everquest 2 or guild wars for that matter..

But seriously, what is the point of your thread. You don't think it will be good, so what, why make a thread about it?

This isn't Warhammer: 40k, it's not fps. The artwork of which the game is based on, was set in place by Games Workshop over 25 years ago. That being said, although the character models look MUCH better than WoW. The game is based on it's own artwork, in essence, WoW copied WAR.

Anyways, this will NOT be a grind. You can get to rank 40 in a month or less as a CASUAL player. However, getting RR80 will take a bit longer. Possibly around 2-3months as a casual player.

 

I don't know what you mean by grind, but leveling will be easier in WAR than it is in WoW, or any other game for that matter. The end goal of mythic is to get you to 40 ASAP. Once you hit 40, is when the real game begins. Although, Mythic took a different turn and actually made the game begin at level 1. In WoW, there may be 40 zones. But 20 of those zones are meant just for leveling with no other reasoning. In WAR, there's only 34 zones, but every zone has a purpose. There's real time pvp in every zone and scenarios. T2 and above have keeps/castles, all zones have seige weapons. So even when you're just a level 1, you can instantly get into PVP/RvR and instantly become useful. Everything you do helps out the WAR effort. By doing RvR/PVP/PVE or even crafting in Tier 1, you're helping out Tier 2, Tier 3 and final even Tier 4. So no zone goes wasted, no quest goes unneeded. Theres always something to do and getting there is not hard. They want you be at level 40 so you can have fun.

the grind im reffering to is the fact that it will be a long time doing very repedetive tasks involving pvp AND pve alike, not necesarily sitting in a cave waiting for a mob to spawn to gang rush it

SO what does it for you to post this? if you enjoy WoW and not interested in War then just keep playing it, do you get paid if this come true? or you just here posting about how bad every game beside WoW is and get your post counts up? that would be truly sad and you need to take a break from fourms and MMO's since your sense of accomplishments is getting out of hand o.o

i actually quit wow a while ago, it got repedetive if youve ever seen me post before it has to do with WoW getting old but taking a long time due to the stuff youre able to do whereas WAR looks very 2 sided, lack luster professions that take away from what looks like alright gameplay but you cant do so little with what they've shown

Tier 4 is comprised of 5 continuous zones. Or was it 6? I can't remember. Anyways, you have to fight to get the neutral zone in Tier 4. Once you get there, you're fighting to push your enemy back until you finally get to their capital city. At this point, you fight them for control over their own city. Once you capture this city, after killing tons of players and even the empire king and receiving many epic loots. You can now do legendary PQ quests within that city for more epic lewts. Plus, 3-5 PVE dungeons are now unlocked for you to do for even more epic lewts. Also you now own the city and can destroy it and pillage it for epic lewts.

 

You're telling me, you would rather sit in one spot and kill a meaningless AI mob for loot. RATHER than killing thousands of human players for epic lewts and capture their own city. THEN, go on and do MORE pvp or heck, do legendary PVE dungeons/PQ's? It's the same thing ,theres epic PVE in the end city as well as PVP. You just chose what you want to do.

 

Either way, just because you want 100% PVE and NO PVP, that does not make WAR a horrible game. I could say WoW is a piece of shit because their green orc that they stole from WAR look like pussies. Or that their PVP is a joke, everything about the game is oversimplified stolen ideas from other great games. The fact that their storyline is just a rehased version of Tolkien/warhammer, but much worse. But  I don't, so why are you here to bash WAR?

because ive gone to the sites with the information ive seen the leaked videos ive researched and tried really hard to be a "fanboi" of this game but i cant, lack of skills per class and a lack of overall ability to be diverse

your not going to get alot of skill information about the classes untill the NDA is lifted. So how can you claim to know the indepth details about the class skills when the NDA is still up and they havent released the skill progression stats yet???
