Originally posted by Fyzo I really enjoyed VtM but LOVED Bloodlines. The atmosphere, plenty of interesting quests, great humor, the hotel, and just the overall story.
As much as I am a fan of the RPG system I fear a MMO would be a bit odd. I dont want to run around with 100 (or more) other vampires in the same city.
Who knows, I wish them the best of luck with their game and I hope for the best.
I agree though I think CCP can pull off the social aspect of clans, covenants, and bloodlines all feuding and scheming against each other with the odd "lone wolf" so to speak throwing in a monkey wrench or tilting the odds in one direction or another. The reason I say this is because that is how EVE itself works in a fashion. There is so much going on in EVE player wise that revolves around warring, scheming, plotting and manipulation that I can see that CCP are masters at this type of stuff.
I do agree that this game will need a very big boost in the atmosphere department and story telling department much more then EVE. Then again if its a player run world like EVE it might not need all that much help in terms of creating a living and breathing world except for the occasional GM run event here and there. Also according to the new WoD wiki site there is an estimate of probably 30,000 to 60,000 Vampires in the world. The vast majority of those vampires living in very large cities across the world because vast majority of the 6 billion people on this planet also live in large cities. Big cities provide enough prey and cover for vampires to hunt and hide.
Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.
Me and my brother are huge fans of the Vampire the Masquerade lore, and have been saying they need an MMORPG for years.
I greatly enjoyed both games (Redemption and Bloodlines) and that hotel was one of the best I have yet played. To this day, I still think the sookiest thing I ever saw was in the basement where I saw some guy with a fire axe out of the corner of my eye, but when I turned he was gone.
Awesome game and looking forward to it when it is finally released.
