I had that problem with my 8500GT. It could have been a defective chip becuase both a 7200GS and my new 9500GT both work fine. What card are you using?
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.
If the Powerball lottery was like Lotro, nobody would win for 2 years, and then everyone in Nebraska would win on the same day.
And then Nebraska would get nerfed.-pinkwood lotro fourms

I used to get this while gaming, turned out that my graphics card was over-heating. Have you tried toning down the graphics? Shadows in particular... If it's even possible to do such things in the Beta version.
Oh and have you got the latest graphics card drivers, etc...

I had that same type of crash in AOC and it turned out I needed more RAM, I don't think you can tell much by the nature of the crash. I will say you need 2 GB of RAM for this game, I haven't seen anyone run it smoothly without that yet.
If you alt+tab, you have high changes of crashing or getting black screen or other stuff... the client is not alt+tab friendly yet. We sent a lot of feedback about this. I hope they fix it. I know they are aware of it.
The CTDs for me dissapeared. I used to CTD in RvR when many people around. I set the graphic preferences to "fastests framerate" and now I dont crash anymore. Try it but not sure if that will work for you too.
i ran AOC and have 3gb of ram so it cant be that

It's a memory leak problem. The game keeps allocating more and more memory its not actually using until it runs out of it, resulting in the game crashing.
some reason during the guild beta when they had a patch the 8000 GT series gpu start having problems, some people get them some dont, someone had posted a fix for it on the warhamemr closed btea forums.
i thought mytic fixed it but best you email them about it.
No -- not correct.
I played two LONG sessions today, my first day. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and then from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
I never crashed -- not once. I set the game to "Balanced" settings and it played completely smooth -- even in big RvR battles.

Crash seem to happen in scenario most of the time .
When I first started playing war, there would be times when the game would stutter, my screen would turn black, my monitor would turn off and enter power saving mode, and the war sounds would loop in my headphones.
Turned out it was a hardware issue.
Anyways, the game is still in debug mode so a lot of issues people are having will be resolved come release (or a month or two after).
I really hope cause this is the only downside for me . Really love the game but random crash during scenario or bootage to server screen during scenar suck .
My CTD's just exit the game without errors. It happened on my Rune Priest at lvl 6, my Warrior Priest, and whenever i make a High Elf. I played for 8 hours straight on my Chaos Marauder though before i crashed to desktop. It's happened to me many times on different characters at different levels.
Before today, i would crash more frequently too.
In AoC, i had the "lockup-with-sound loop" problem, until i disabled my soundcard, but after awhile it would lockup still, but less frequently.
It might be an overheating issue, hardware problem, memory leak, etc....i'll never know for sure though. I can only hope it's fixed for WAR, or at least happens less frequently like it did in AoC.
Well AoC never crashed like some people fro me.
Do you thinks WAR's problems could be software releated? and not hardware related?
Or maybe a combination of both?
TheHavok, could you please tell me what was the hardware issue? me and my friend seem to have the same crash, and quite often. Especially when i tried to play dwarven characters, the game barely lasts longer then 5 minutes before freezing with the monitor turning itself off. Trying to set the details lower seem to make my computer more stable, i can play humans for hours, but even there sometimes it crashes, and alwasy when playing in the dwaven hold.
I have 2 GB RAM, and otherwise the game runs smooth and fine, and Warhammer Online isnt the only game where this freezing happens.
Anyone have any idea how to solve this?
One check out the support page/forums , its up already (go to offical website or it on the luncher)
Two sounds like a sound (safe bet is here) or video issue (make sure creative eax is not on) try different drivers and there is debugg log files.
Overheating, bad psus can also cause these so gl, but becuase it that game only it should not be these.
