I an very happy with the outcome they really handled the situation very professionally. No matter what you think about Funcom they really came through for this guild in a time of crisis.

    Nice

Now you could just add an edit at the bottom of your first post with this info

Adding the part where the new guild leader lied about FC  (and his own) involvement on the matter wouldn't hurt either

Criticism is all great, as long as it's true.

I know it's hard to get IT personel here in Norway at the moment, but seriously tho. Better having a smaller GM staff with longer waiting times, then a large GM staff filled with complete nutcases!

GMs are no "IT Staff"   Anyone wit ha bit of pc knowledge and some experience of customer facing roles - or just the right attitude and common sense - can do a GM job.

Stealing guilds / doing an aggressive takeover is fun and legitimate play.

You wouldnt give the keys to your new ferrari to guy you met in the pub and "seemed" nice.

in life and the corporate world people get shafted by people they trusted or have known for years.

People should not be priotected from this in MMOG - choose your friends wisely.

No reason why doing deals at guild leader level should be any different for any other trade or other relationship.

u know, funcom is actually...NOT based in the universe of USA. theres another universe out there that has a small planet in it somewhere named earth that has alot of countries on it that don't speak english.

funcom is based in Oslo, Norway. they speak Norwegian there. we're playing their game. -well, was playing their game...

but ya, AoC isn't doing too good. Funcom is dropping the ball, alot. their customer support is lacking. but don't make such a blatantly ignorant  remark like that.

There is always one in the crowd.

To the OP-glad to hear that a resolution to the problem came about for you.

To my friend to the north, Mr. Canada...I do belive that your country is bi-lingual, eh hoser?  Anyhow-lets see----the last time I checked, America was NOT the ONLY English speaking country "out there...on planet Earth".  Funny, I think England speaks, umm, ENGLISH?  Britain? Parts of Ireland? Ohh, possibly Australia? New Zealand? or maybe even CANADA? (GASP!).

Keep your American hatred out of the MMO world and lets stay on topic.  To address the guy that wrote the post you commented on, he has a valid point.  If you are going to conduct any business in a country, it is best to have people employed that speak the language of the country you are doing business in.  To the point, if I only spoke gibberish, and I wanted to do business in a place that 99% of the population spoke a language OTHER that gibberish, I think good business sense would say ----EMPLOY some who spoke GIBBERISH.

But, since Funcom is turning into Failcom, it wont really matter in a few months anyhow.

Yeah but England speaks english english not real english.  I mean wtf is a lorry?  And the trunk is not a boot and fries are not chips.

Seriously those english people need to learn to speak english right.  And if they don't well I say we colonize them.  Afterall what's good for the goose is good for the gander.  Then we can have a sort of inverse war of 1812 and Scotland can be the new Canada, except with less snow.

Actually, "native English speaking people" does not mean anything.

I am not a "native English speaker", and i can spell check you anytime, anywhere, and make you swallow those words.

I find it amazing how so many Americans and Brits do not know the difference between "your" and "you're", "ship's" and "ships", "then" and "than", "too" and "to", spell "ect" instead of "etc", "per say" instead of "per se", then post these righteous messages, as if they had a right to.

Wake up Neo, you are not better than him.

Hey its not our fault that english is a messed up hodge podge of like 4 languages.

I blame the french.  Damn norman's.  I would blame the germans, but then we'd be speaking some kind of Celtic or latin if it wasn't for the saxonns and angles so meh I can't really do that.

Also you are wrong native speaking or at the very least fluency does mean something.  The minor spelling errors you mention no.  But idioms and context are very much a function of being fluent and having experience the language or even dialect.  In fact it can initialy be hard for even someone who has spoken a language all their life to understand a somewhat different dialect and for many idioms they may no idea at all what they mean until are explained.

And idiomatic speaking is very commonplace.

Not that it really matters in the case of GMs.  But you are certainly missing an important fact of language here.

I think it will damage Funcom way more while Fanboys (dont count yourself to it) try to make this topic as big as possibel. It just semi-sounds like its all this dudes fault that Funcom staying right now in bad light.

know what i mean? Sorry my english sucks to much to get my point clear i think.

However, i sure see that Funcom didnt make anythink wrong in this situation and its even nice that they rebuild the citys etc 10points for that. But its not this dudes fault that Funcom is more hated than loved right now.

I agree, and while the very situation with FC and the game has created the current perception of them, it's also been exacerbated by tons of posts designed to create ill will that have been baseless, taking advantage of the already existing bad vibe.

While this kind of storis themselves wouldn't be enough to create hatred towards the game, adding them on top of the legitimate claims and criticism do heaten the feelings, and people is really eager to believe anything bad said about the game or the company without even checking if it's true or not.

I won't ever deny a true claim or critic against this or any other company, if it has bases, at all, they all has to be accountable of their actions, but i also find unacceptable when people that has no accountability on their own (thanks to the internet hiding their identity) spread malicious rumors.

You'll see people spewing venom on mythic too (at whatever degree) you ahve seen the same with SOE (i mean the things they did not do that people still blame them of, not their  well known mistakes), blizzard, etc, blind hatred and blind fanboyism are both stupid and need to be put in check.

In Latin America, i suppose i need your permission to post here, or that making typing and grammar mistakes while writing in a (to me) foreign language is some sort of a sin?

That and my spell checker don't seem to work on this page :S

    The OP is hilarious.

Not only is the game itself crappy and incomplete, seems they don't even have a basic system of player auditing and backup.

    wow.
