I was just wondering if anybody knew if any celebs, or famous people who play MMO's? I am betting that WoW must have some, especially since a whole episode of South Park was dedicated to the programme.
I understand that Johnny Vegas (a large comedian from the UK) plays them, although I do not know which ones. Be interested to hear any anectdotes anyone might have about this.

A guy from The Killers is in my EQ2 guild. I thought it was BS, that was until I ended up with free concert tickets for xmas last year and access to a VIP party here in Los Angeles. True story. I won't say who or which guild is mine in EQ2, he would not appreciate that.

The adverts are designed to lure fans of those people in. They may or may not play the game but you can't use the ads as a sure fire "yes they play WoW".

i think morgan webb host of the show "x-play" plays WoW (she always mentions in the show how she spends her free time on WoW)

Take the Hecatomb TCG What Is Your Doom? quiz.
The reason celebs get into so much trouble is that they have too much money and too much time on their hands. More of them need to play MMOs to occupy their time - then the tabloids would be out of business. Well, at least the'd be reporting that Brittney has a video game addiction, and is neglecting her kids to spend hours playing Perfect World.
I heard a rumor that one time big wig mmo developer Richard Garriot plays a little known mmo called tabula rasa and supposedly he got a little to into and currently beliefs he is the true savior of mankind, even going as far as paying millions to go into space and dumping several useless pieces of information and DNA up there.
The man is stark raving looney

Jeff Gordon plays Runescape (lol)

Marty Friedmen from Megadeath is in my guild. He played SWG with us for years, and is moving to war with us. He is a really cool laid back person.

I think a lot of people from G4 play MMOs. I know they all did when it was TechTV before it was even a primarily gaming channel.
Video games are perfect for celebs because many often travel and are looking for remote entertainment. MMORPG's are great because there's no console, no disks to tote around after install, and available wherever Wi-Fi exists.

That's cool. It's nice to hear that he didn't feel 'above' anyone else and was charitable. Always nice to hear about people who have money without abusing it. I tend to have a new respect for those folks.

I've played SWG (and later other MMOs) with a Russian countess who resides in the UK, who told me several members of the English royalty play various MMORPGs.
Although not a metal fan per-say, I really did like Symphony of Destruction and Sweating Bullets. The band knows how to put virtuosity in metal, whereas there are many band that seem to think, "Loud is better". I'm sure a lot of people feel this way and feel free to pass along if you like, though many people don't like to mix work with their gaming.
