Wrongfull billing for over a year by Mythic

I did the DOAC trail for 14 days 8/28-07 it says. After a few days i quitt and cancel it. When i cheak my bankaccount today i saw that mythic had billed 15 USD so i cheak it up and i see i have subscription running and game purshed with 3 exspansion. Really nice to see after a year, i never really look into what i am billed since i use my card for everything its kind of allot and things just hide in 100 lines of text wall :/ I am going to ask my bank now how i should handle this  and if its even worth doing something about it, i was looking forward to this game but now i really hate this company, billing me for games i never even bought and than keepign sub. I entered my info only to activate the trail.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it's Mythic's fault you don't keep track of which services you are subscribed to.

Instead of complaining to us, perhaps you should ask Mythic for a refund for all that service you never used.

Honestly, I'm not rich, but if I forget to cancel a MMORPG service and get charged for it I don't run off to random message boards and start complaining.  Instead, I go, "Doh!" and cancel my subscription like I was supposed to.

So you didn't remove the credit card info after canceling?

    You sir, are dumb.

Billing mistakes do, can, and will happen on a regular basis.  If you are to

    A) Lazy

    B) Stupid

    C) Aloof

    D) All of the above

to check your OWN CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS FOR OVER A YEAR, then...

You sir, deserve a Darwin award.  Google it.

Yeah mythic is really sneaky that way, I'm sure they do it on purpose with the hope that some people will forget to remove the CC info.  It's a shady way of doing business.

    You enjoy trolling overmuch.

Granted, your other thread was quite successful along these lines.  Kudos.

Still his fault for not checking his statements etc. even if mythic did it by chance, or maybe he did something wrong in his account. Im sure mythic isnt at the top of the shady mmo buisiness. That would go to a few other companies...

    I just find it amusing he uses his credit card for 'everything'. I mean hell, no wonder so many people are in debt and interest is so ridiculously high;

    "OMFG NEW GRAFIKS CARD!"

    "KNEW CONSOLE WEWTS!"

"I PAID FOR GAS WITH MY CREDIT CARDS LULZ"

Word of advice to those less adept on the forums. Only get a credit card if you can see yourself having a dire need for one, otherwise stick to a debit card. Safer that way.

Same thing happened to me. Mythic billed me for two months after I canceled. Despite not having an active account they were still billing me.  After an epic chat with their service department I finally got them to stop ripping me off. This time I plan on monitoring my billing very carefully.

To the moron above me, this isn't an issue isn't about credit cards. I use credit cards for everything too...because its a lot easier to pay one big bill than having to write dozens of checks. The OP is probably like myself, I have my credit cards set to auto pay the entire balance every month so your "point" is moot.

Agreed.  Keep one Credit card (from a reputable source) for emergencies and then use cash/debit for all other transactions.

Actually cash is best.  But, I have problems following my own advice and this society is moving farther and farther away from cash so that more middle-men can take a portion of your money.... its the future, unfortunately.

Wow, you guys got no brains, I NEVER PURSHED those games or whatever. I only typed in CC info to varify i was a UNIQ user to a 14 day trail. I NEVER set up subscription. I said in my original post all of this.

In a month i can have over 100 diffrent debaits, WHO IN HELL want to go trough all of that ??? I never gave out my info to untrustworthy companies imo. I concidered this one to be trustworthy but... I got insurance that should cover this and than my bank can take over the issue.

To toss shit at WAR by saying Mythic is crooked from DoAC?!

That's the only explaination I can come up with.  But, again... if you are too dumb to check your own statements for a year then you deserve to get burned, IMHO.

I just assumed he meant a combination credit/debit card that just draws from his bank account.  That's what my card is, and I'll use it for everything.  There's no interest because it's just an alternative way of accessing the money in my bank account, not unlike using writing a check.

i'm raising the bs flag on this one. you purchase everything on a credit card, and never check your statements.  i've never heard of this before, and i have had my account on and off for 5 years.  you bought what you bought.  you had no idea what you was doing can be the only case.  at any rate i have to wave a bs flag at you buddy.

I believe it is stated in their agreement that you will be charged for the game once your 14 day trial period is over. It is not like most modern games where it just simple deactivates and awaits for activation at the end. If you did not cancel and remove your CC info they will bill you and they say they will bill you. Even if you don't play anymore.

No, this is you not knowing how all MMORPG trial accounts that exist on the face of the planet work.

You start a trial account, you give them your credit card, and they write in big bold letters: when your trial account runs out they'll start billing your credit card unless you cancel your account.  This is done not to sneak money out of your account, but rather because they figure people who sign up for their trial accounts are genuinely interested in subscribing to their games if they didn't cancel.

    You screwed up, not Mythic.

However, you're not even giving Mythic the benefit of the doubt here.  They actually have a very good reputation for being fair to their customers.  Why don't youcall their customer service and say, "Dude!  I was checking my VISA account and you've been charging me for months.  I didn't want to subscribe!  Check my login recods, I haven't even logged in during all that time"

You may be pleasantly surprised to discover that they'll refund your money.   Give them a chance instead of running to the nearest message board and engaging in what's basically making a scene in public like a 5-year-old child in the supermarket whose mom didn't buy them a toy.

You fail, I do not cheak them since i know how much money i should have, its impossible for me to notice if 15USD is missing, if it was more i would have looked into it but everything looks okay when i see  x usd at the end of the month.  Since i keep track on how much i spend and how much i should have left. Montly i spend about the same and rest goes automaticly into savings so i really dont see why i should cheak every single debait, i got better things to spend my time on.

    you fail.

EDIT:  ALSO, YOU GIVE THE IMPRESSION THAT 15 DOLLARS ISN'T THAT MUCH AND THAT YOU DIDN'T NOTICE IT WAS MISSING FOR THAT VERY REASON.  iF THAT IS THE CASE, THEN WHY  BITCH AND COMPLAIN THAT IT WAS TAKEN OUT IF ITS NOT A NOTICEABLE AMMOUNT TO YOU?

Your OP fails on many levels as do you.  Good day sir.

I sure as hell check my statements monthly mate, and I have money that FLYS off the shelf. Anyone who doesn't check is lazy or just to damned trusting to be allowed to use credit cards (or online bank account direct debits....)

And as an FYI, companies DON'T make their money by tricking the 1 foolish person in 1,000 that can't be bothered to spend 10 minutes a month confirming that things were done correctly on their behalf.

I really dont care wether mythic made all your dreams come true, what they did was wrong if not even illegal, i canceled my account AFTER ta few days, not even the 14 used.
