I'm running around Rio Albi, hunting for the boss and leveling up my Karjalain (91st) and my Bernelli (96th), when I find it as I'm going to the pioneering memorial.  My Grace draws the aggro, so I move her off and send Karja in to use Esquive touch to try to get it instead (since Karja has high evasion, she can tank the lizard pretty well).  And boom, in swoops in this guy from Catharsis, basically the 2nd biggest raiding clan on my server to KS it.

The big clans in the game aren't content to let non-clan members (or small clans) have any boss. They have to hog it all. I dunno why he is even in Rio Albi in the first place hunting for the boss (Citadel, the top raiding clan does it too),  much less KSing a clanless guy like me, for whom the Giant Komodo is pretty much the only source for high level gear (other than the cash shop).  Theoretical source anyway, I've gotten 1 84e drop from him out of mabye 500 kills (and that was a greatsword). But he does spit out 92 chips and coupons and just plain drops (which get scarce at over 80), so basically he's my sole source of income in the game (since drops in higher levels are so rare as to be negligible)

The game is fun, but there's not just much in it for high level to do, unless you are in a big clan. And even then, apparently that's not even that they have to do the stuff I do since they have to horn in there as well.

This is one of the nice things about Lotro -  whoever gets the first hit in, gets credit for the kill and the drops, not who does the most damage

R.I.P. City of Heroes and my 17 characters there

I pretty much play this game casually and have not achieve high enough levels to attract the attention of the high level clans, but it is a common problem that many games incur.  When you let high level groups dominate a game, you definitely have game breaking issues.

I know there are many people who really like this game on this board.  I do have fun playing it, but like any f2p game it has some problems.  The devs are trying to address them, they have lessened the differences between levels some, but still I have not seen any plans to address the griefing that goes on, but they seem to be receptive to change.

Hopefully we will see changes in the future.

This content is for high-end clans as well as requiring alot more of the stated behavior of the OP.   The zones as well as the spawns just do not keep up with the clan sizes .

Yes, there are ways to get around the "clan requirements" but I think it takes alot more patience and money than the average player is willing to invest and possibly even strains the hard-core player as well.

Your right its still not finished it will never be finished because the devs will never get a clue and stop making the "Grind" count as content, Take the entire Grind and killing monsters out of the game and how much content do you really have left?

Look at games like FFXI they base off grind but once you are level 75 you can go around doing missions and quests and long term benefits without killing a single monster for almost a year. Story missions teleport missions, Ballista crafting theres TONS of variety in that grinder, SoTNW your choices are Grind or PvP because Even raids are nothing but massive gorup grinds. I got to Veteran and sold my account I didn't care for it I was on the 2nd most powerful clan in Orpesia Nephalim last year and I honestly couldnt find the game fun at all.

BACK in the day, when this game was still in Beta, we were crying and crying at the devs to do something about the almost random way people were able to ks. Of course, back then it wasn't such a problem because there were so few at the end stage and loot was loot. Just after it came out  (when it was P2P), we still cried for it to be fixed (I didn't find it so bad though, because the fact it was p2p2 meant that there were less people around - hunting could sometimes be a problem, but never too much of one) and no... the devs were crap then, as they are now, but it was crap you paid for and crap you could live with.

Basically, what I'm trying to say *edging towards the door* is that the lunatic devs shouldn't have made it f2p because this game, which was once magnificent, has gone the way of all f2p games: overcrowded, unrewarding and problematic. This once great game is now an eye-wateringly steaming, acidic pile of bum juice.

    It makes me cry.

    The way I see it,

The style of the game the world the visuals the music and Artistic speaking here not counting any Tech and Game play, its a master peace,

Once you put in game play its a peace of shit.

They might as well call Sword of the new world the Cash shop run screen saver. Because it looks and sounds beautiful but the game play and actually playing it is something else.

As Iv said many times before, I would sooner quit all video games in general than playing this crap shit as my main mmorpg.

You're comparing the endgame of a game that was released in 2002 to a game that was released in 2005/2006

And yes, we know you have said it many times before you didn't like the game, we get it.

You already mentioned you want the game to be more like World of Warcraft. It's not going to happen, get over it.

I hate how so many games have picked up the combat & gameplay core of WoW. All the current games out now are so copy/paste and rarely does any have originality besides the game concept. Requiem for example.
