My wife and I, along with our guild, prepared for the "Headstart" by nearly over sleeping. Seriously, 1100 CST on a SUNDAY? These heathens, these maniacal twisted mean spirited people at Mythic... have you no honor? We sought to sleep in, as is our wont on Sundays, but NOOOO.
Fail #1.
So I get logged in at 1059, and watch the server lists to go from dull grey to "WE'RE ON!" Now I have a watch connected to the Naval Observatory Atomic Clock. I even checked it against to ensure I was 100% accurate. As I sat there, waiting, I watched in horror as the time ticked past 11:01:00 CST. THEY WERE LATE. It wasn't until a FULL 1 minute and 34 SECONDS HAD GONE BY before the servers were up. The monkeys at Mythic must have had a terrible time with the whole "on" switch thing. This does not bode well for the future of "Warhammer Online".
Fail #2.
So once I was in I had to waste precious time reserving my names on two servers, two sides. This took over 3 minutes... so here I am, WASTING MY PLAYING TIME (since Mythic didn't take into consideration some of us WORK WEEKENDS that's Fail #3 btw) doing all this name reservation stuff. Where was I? Oh yes, so instead of being up and playing at the LATEST 11:02:00 I wasn't playing WAR until 11:07:39. This is what they call Customer Support? A "smooth launch"? If riding down the side of a gravely mountain in a shopping cart steering with your grandma's walker is smooth then I guess they got close.
Fail #4.
So, now I am in game, I start to play... and the starting area was PACKED! WTF? We actually had to WAIT FOR quest mobs and barrels (we are the Greenskins, an honorable and great race) to get anything done. WTF? Why was there like 30-60 second respawn timers? SERIOUSLY?
Fail #5.
Now, we got in and Queued for the scenario's... you'd THINK with all that beta time they would have this down pat wouldn't you? Like eating, breathing and sleeping it should come natural. I timed it, Queue times were anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes depending on if we went into the Greenskin or the Dark Elf Scenarios. WTF IS THIS CRAP? Did they hire a high school computer club to program this?
Fail #6.
And the final insult. I went to my favorite retail outlet to pick up my CE Box, which I have all ready dutifully paid for. They said it will not be available until the 17th!!!! I have to drive... DRIVE 1/2 a mile, BOTH WAYS once again to get this box. Why did they not ensure we would have the boxes today? What kind of monkey crunk is this eh?

As you can see, Mythic is on the precipice of disaster with their mishandled, unprofessional and poorly achieved launch. After almost 3 hours of solid game play before I was forced to log off for work, I must say, Mythic's launch is an epic failure, a complete and utter disaster... A quagmire if you will of ineptitude!

if they are opening the servers up at 1pm EST, what time is that in CST if it's an hour behind EST?

If headstart for CE was on any other day, you would see official launch being on a weekend, which would make no sense. No one said to buy the CE and get in the headstart, you could have waited like the majority and play on a weekday, since that is so "normal".
You expect that there wouldn't be lines and queues, especially on launch day and you have a flood of people coming in? Mob respawn times? Packed newbie areas? YES! Cause obviously those ARENT expected on LAUNCH DAY.
You only waited 1-5 minutes for scenarios? Wow. I have waited 30 minutes to an hour during beta. You're a lucky guy.
No where does it say the CE box would be available early and before the game releases. The game isn't officially out yet, and you don't have to enter your retail codes until 3 days after the launch. Do some research next time.

I'm pretty sure he was still joking around when it came to the CE boxes not being there, and the scenario queues being 5 minutes (ONLY 5 minutes.)

I couldn't resist! Since I AM at work, and not rocking it with my squiggy in WAR... I had to do something fun.
And the servers came up at 12PM EST, not 1PM.

Back to the purpose of the thread...
OP is spot on, Mythic has completely failed us on this launch. I can see another AoC failure a mile away. I would also like to add Warhammer is having a successful sales at launch, and open beta was capped at level 21. A clear indication that this is AoC 2.

I find it kinda lame to mock people who have real problems. Since I have no CE its not my turn yet, but sarcasm is always the death of every serious debate. Sorry if I sound kinda humorless, but there were enough problems with GOA here in EU to make me sceptic. But we'll see in the next days.

I mock no one. The point of the thread was to highlight all the problems I had today. Granted I had to put a high powered microscope to said problems, shine a bright light and make mountains out of molehills... but hey...

I would like to state that in no way shape or form that anything I receive from SOE influences my opinion about SWG or their company. Im pretty much a typical average player enjoying the game.
