if youre going to do that, make it worth your while...go for two days..

I remember having to do that back in the day...I always hated talking in a low voice because i couldnt carry off a sick tone....so i thought the next best thing would be to show low energy, hence, low voice......hmm...now that i think about it,what a moron i was.......

If you take two you might as well make it realistic and go for three, then it'll be only Friday and there's no point going in for just one day... run it through the weekend.

You'll look like shit on the Monday too because of lack of sleep and poor nutrition, nobody will doubt you.

What the F is wrong with you guys??

You call in sick to play a game? If you want to play, then take the day off. Calling in sick is pissing up and down your boss, and I hope he/she finds out and fires your ass...

I know we have it prety good here in Danmark (yes I'm danish). We get 5 weeks of paid vacation and some also get 1½ extra day off each 3 month. For a total of 6 weeks paid vacation + about 10 holidays. But calling in sick when you are not is still WRONG!!

In many countries you get a set amount of paid sick days which people are almost expected to take... Why not pull a sickie to play a game that you like and relax?

Yeah too bad most of our "bosses" do that more than their employees.

Wow, taking a day off work to play a video game? It does say a lot about you. I'm a fan of games as much as anyone and will be playing this when it releases, but some of you need to sort out your priorities ;)

I hate slackers. I'm with the guy who hoped your bosses would find out about your little sick day and fire you.

  • NogginNoggin Member Posts: 808

Of course you could always work from home as I do, work and play at the same time.  win win.

Polish apples for a living do you? Im the guy who would have made fun of you each and every day for being such a brown noser. Trust me, if calling off one day makes you happy, go for it. Misery is cheap and plentiful, happiness you have get it when you can.

The difference is "calling in sick" or "taking the day off". Yes misery is cheap, but lying to your boss is wrong in every way.

If playing a game makes you happy, then take the day off. I won't judge you. I have even don that myself a few times. But don't say you'r sick.

You brown nosers for work need to loosen the frack up. We are human beings, not work slaves. Get off your damn misery high horse of work work work. Life is so much more than that. We all know that people who work often given up so much more of their lives to their daily jobs. So, how dare any of you even criticize us for wanting to take some of our time back? It is not about priorities. It is about being a dynamic and diverse human being. So take a day or three off, enjoy your life in whatever way it makes you happy. Work is not the end all, be all to life. Don't let these other miserable fools make you think otherwise!

So when did boss become god? Who cares who lies to their boss? They're the boss...they are supposed to be lied to. Besides, calling in sick isn't always a lie. It's just, we can't say "Hey, I'm calling in sick...sick of work today. Sorry. Will be in tomorrow."

You must be a boss. You have probably been lied to. It probably makes it hard for you to sleep at night, such poor self esteem. You wanted to be the good guy but realized that people still treat you like crap simply because you're the boss. You're the enemy to everyone who has to work beneath you.

Its a mmorpg tradition to call in sick when a major game is released, whether on PC or Console.

Enjoy your sick day off, we all deserve it once in a while and make sure your order a pizza and grab a case of beer from the supermarket.

As a matter of fact, some people just need a break from real life, I think we all could agree here. As long as you can be responsible about it.

Well said. I personally would not call in to play a game. At least not this game.  Although I am 38 and have a family to think about and the days of thinking of me only are over.

It is a time honored tradition!

But one - sadly - I cannot honor this time....
