Warhammer Owns WoW.

Everyone that doesnt want to play it say it's because it looks like WoW.

Yeah, it does.. Does it feel like WoW? FUCK NO.

You can grind public quests, which are awesome, and pvp in the same time, awesome as well, to level.

I mean how can you not like leveling up? It's fun..

And its simply a glimpse of the PVP Technology that they use!!

If you are on Chaos Wastes check out bloodvayne.forumer.com, I am recruiting.

I agree. It's newer, however, and not everyone sees things the same way we do. To me, going back to WoW isn't even an option.

    It's all opinions anyway.

I play them both, to me WoW is the better game. WAR is good to, not WoW good but really good.

I will continue to play them both, WoW as a main and WAR to pvp in.

It's simple when in WoW and I get the urge to BG or Arena, I will log out and log into WAR.

When I want to play a much better laid out PvE experience, I will log back into WoW.

Lets not forget that WoW took it's general art direction/inspiration from the Warhammer universe. Nothing wrong with that. But, people need to chill with this WAR looks like WoW crap.

Just about every pro-WAR post is an anti-WoW callout. WAR fanboys can't go for a minute without ripping on WoW. Just saw a thread on WHA from a guy saying he doesn't like autofacing in battle and that it takes away a lot of the interaction with your character in PvP, he didn't mention any other game in his post. The page of posts in reply were

    "This isn't WoW, adapt"

"This isnt WoW, leave your leet Rogue mechanics there."

"sounds more to me like someone got their ars handed to them, and in typical WoW whiney baby parade like fashion, goes to the forums and whines."

    It's a pathetic community.

Don't throw stones in glass houses.

Both sides do this equally, even though for me....they are two totally different games

I can't see how a game in which even the most basic input mechanics (press a button=cast a spell) don't work properly and reliable owns WoW.

I've been following WAR for a long time myself..and after the AOC-desaster i was hoping even more that WAR would turn out to be a good game to waste my time with this fall/winter. But i'm afraid that there isn't going to change much about it's current state as mythic is as silent as the 20+ dead servers and WAR will drop into a small niche before it ever reaches a "prime".

I don't play WoW at all, in fact i HATE if with a passion. But saying that War "owns" WoW is a bit far out. Guess in the end it depends on personal taste...

Rofl niche. Thats why they re splitting servers and creating new ones because it s more popular then they expected. The game beleive it or not is good to most people, the ones coming to the boards are a HUGE minority. This game will be the second largest game in the world beyond WOW, on sub numbers.

Well... I don't think it "owns" WoW. And your /end fact thing at the end.... -cringe- I wish people would stop using the word "fact" when expressing their opinions.

I think it's a very fun game that can offer a good alternative to those who perhaps find WoW's PvP a little "limited".

I also don't think it looks like WoW. At all. I look at my human Witch Hunter in WAR and then a Human in WoW... no comparison.

    The environments? Completely different.

    The art style? Completely different.

Was showing a friend screenshots of my characters and such in WAR last night.. He has played WoW extensively and is currently playing LoTRO. In his opinion, it's closer to LoTRO than it is to WoW if anything, in terms of graphics style.

I agree OP.  I have played WoW on-off since release and I doubt i'll ever play it again. Almost everything about WAR is awesome. WoWs Mickey mouse PvP pales in significance and the classes look so much more awesome in WAR.

Personally I feel that alot more love has gone into WAR. It's a shame to see people dismissing it as crap before even reaching level 10 but hey, it's their loss.

Well they do have 25+ years of lore to draw from... It *better* have a good lore presence with that much at their disposal (by the way, I agree with you lol)
It's a shame to see people dismissing it as crap before even reaching level 10 but hey, it's their loss.
Meh... don't be so quick to discount people. Not everyone who plays it and decides they don't like it "hasn't played past 10" or is automatically a hater.
If you say you like the game, haters will call you a fanboy. If you say you don't like the game, fanboys will call you a hater. There is no grey area with either camp. It's black or white.
The more moderate among us will simply shrug and say "to each their own".
Like anything else, WAR simply isn't going to be for everyone.  Now, the trick is to get *both* sides to realize that :-p.

Just logged off after 4 hours straight of RvR in tier 1 Chaos - Empire.

Fun, fun, fun, fun and some more fun!

Hiding around corners to surprise the order warband, jumping in the middle of the fray and using my shammy morale AoE damage to healing spell, capping control points, losing control points, getting one shotted by those nasty hero npc's at the order camp ....

    FUN!!!

I spent all weekend on WAR trying to like the PvP and although I'll agree at busy times theres plenty of PvP I just did not enjoy the ACT of PvP'ing in WAR when compared with WoW, I feel more incontrol of my toon in WoW, the animations and attacks feel and look better.  I feel I make more of an impact and can turn a skirmish depending on who I kill or CC in WoW.. non of that in WAR just feels like a massive zerg fest and I am just yet another showdow warrior.

As you can tell I am sticking with WoW.

I play both games.... Well im quitting wow since its very boring when ur lvl 70. Im lvl 11 on warhammer and its loads of fun, did some pvp as well. War is loads of fun !!

I play Wow and War as well, and War did one smart thing.

They focus on the PvP. WoW focuses on the PvE. So at best, all War will get from WoW is the much younger kid "YEAHBOI! FUCK IT  I OWZYOOSE ALL UBER L33T" population that gave WoW a bad name in the first place probably.

Warhammer will not pull WoWs base, which is about raiding and endgame dungeoning. That will stay there with the mandatory raiding times and gear driven play. That base that plays WoW likes it just that way. They wont be coming here, esp with Wrath of the Lich King coming and NEW raiding and gear to worry about. lol

There is a segment who play Wow who just want to pvp. Thats it. They dont wanna do anything else. That crowd will get siphoned off WoW and come here. But that crowd will make such a small dent leaving it wont be missed, esp when you can replace it with customers FASTER than will leave WoW. (which they are doing btw)

War is a good game so far (7/10) and will not fail. Its not a niche game, as there is a big and growing population of new gamers who want to meet people and kill them. But owning WoW?

Only if you like PvP will it "own" WoW.

WAR is cool though, I agree on that for sure. Just wish I could play it for more than 45 minutes without it just suddenly closing. Oh well, surely something on my side which I need to clean up on the PC.

It's not your PC, crashing / closing is relatively common across a lot of different rigs. I'd recommend going over to the warhammeralliance.com user support forum and pick which thread sounds closest to your issues.

This game's popularity is going to grow over time, unlike more recent mmo releases.  I still think this game has a shot at the Number 2 mmo and after that, who knows.

THIS^   And that pretty much why I passed on WAR, there is no PVE experiance to speak of, I played all of beta open beta and head start and it just isn't there.

Look at the Lake Winter videos and see what Blizzard has in store for World PvP in the new WotLK. That kind of PvP is not even remotely possible with WAR.
Just like your own sacred developper said "we had to redo everything after watching TBC, well he had better waited to have a look at the new world PvP in Lake Winter. tanks, planes, rideable siege engines, collapsable walls, underwater worlds.
Blizz raised the qualtiy sooo high in speed and execution in these PvP scenes, you can hardly believe your eyes.
Then look at the complete lack of intelligence in the mobs/bosses of WAR PVE and you would ask yourself : is this even possible in 2008?
Not a sane person is going to give up his epic flying mount to fly over Outland and Northrend just to run around in a stuttering world with badly animated Elves and Humans.
Creating hype is one thing - delevering the real game is another thing.
Every copy sold of WAR is a free publicity for WotLK. Nov 13 will just prove this.
Have a nice time in WAR, but those who say they don't want to be in this - are really blind fools.

It's not that impressive. Halaa had aerial combat (on rails) and all the buildings blowing up don't look like real time deformation, rather the buildings are just objects that are rigged to always blow up in the same way after taking X amount of damage.
