What a godawful looking trailer. I really think Uwe Boll could of done a better job at making this movie.

Taking such a great IP like Dragon Ball (they didn't even spell the name of the movie right), and to push its face in the mud like this is such a letdown.

that is NOT dragonball. Piccolo isnt from namek, roshi isnt an old womanizing hermit. Goku isnt middle aged with spiky hair. And i did NOT nee anybody use any of their special moves. All i saw was kung fu, and random chinese people who i have never seen in any other movie. Uwe Boll needs to die in a fire.

I should of elaborated on what I meant by Uwe Boll doing a better job at making this movie.

Uwe Boll isn't the director, James Wong is. I think that because of how bad Wong did this movie though, Boll couldn't of really done any worse himself. He might of even made it better, is what I meant.

From what I've read about this movie though, you're pretty spot on with your comments. Like you said, Piccolo isn't from Namek in this movie, and the director intentionally made Roshi not a pervert (he stated this in some interview awhile ago, that he wanted to make the movie Dragonball a family-orientated movie, and to do that he couldn't have Roshi as a pervert).

Goku isn't middle-aged in this movie (like you said). Instead, Goku, Yamcha, and even Chi Chi are a bunch of high school teens or something. To be honest, I stopped caring about this movie awhile ago. I just wanted to see how bad the trailer would of been.

Couldn't agree with you more :P.

As do I. Maybe someday a decent director will come along and film a good adaptation of Dragon Ball. Although I highly doubt this, since directors can't even get video game adaptations right, what chance do anime adaptations have ?

SO, that movie is going to suck balls like the first hulk movie.

 

Now we need to wait for someone who actually watched teh series to make a real dragnonball movie. I dont know about you but Goku + sports car =  someone didnt watch the episode when goku tried to earn a liscense.

Exactly what I was thinking. This is made for Hollywood only, the people who never seen the series will think of it as another martial arts type movie like mortal kombat.

They didn't capture any of the series as far as I can tell. The modern effect is stupid, cars?? They should of done it on a big set with another world feeling to it and stuck to the series as true as they could.

Why do they even come up of such idea? A dragon ball movie? All those who watched it before had grown up already so they might not be willing to watch it anymore. So anyway who will be the lead stars of the said movie? If it will just be a low budget film, i bet it will be a flop.

But  the problem is Dragon ball Z is quite more scifi rather than Transformers, you know, it wouldn't really happen in reality. Imagine a exploding planet? And I can't really imagine it to be played by real people. I was a fan of dragon ball Z when I was still in grade school, though I was a fan of transformer as well way back in pre-school

The budget isn't too spectacular, and the actors (besides Chow Yun-Fat and Justin Chatwin) haven't been in very many movies. The only good casting decision they made for that movie was to have Joon Park play Yamcha. He looks about as close to Yamcha as any person could, I think.

Did I just watch a trailer for The Forbidden Kingdom 2? Because that's what it looked like. With a bunch of characters that they tossed DB names onto.

I thought the trailer was funny. Honesly though I mean you guys must really understand the time diffrence when dragonbal came out and what this movie is. If dragonball was made now it would be a whole lot diffrent. I call it dragonball with new flavor, but I'm not saying that the movie will be good or bad. As a kid I thought Street Fighter was....ok. Now I think that the New Chun Li movie will actually be good as it has a good cast of characters. Double Dragon was terrible though.

Transformers was really a good movie, but Dragonball the movie.....I'm not quite sure whether it's going to be a hit.
