Would you pay more?

I find it odd that so few game charge anything different then other P2P MMO.  (yeah yeah I know some charge less but thats not the point)

This question is for the ones who are bored with the dull pointless grind fests like WoW, War, etc... Game where you are class X level # instead of what ever your name is.

I will not play a game with a cash shop ever again. A dev job should be to make the game better not make me pay so it sucks less.

$15 dollars is enough to draw a nice profit, keep the servers running, and have excellant customer support.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I think they make plenty of money.  If they make a quality product the subscriptions will multiply and their income will grow.  As it stands now I don't see the developers really motivated to make anything drastically different.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

    Maybe...maybe not.

I wouldn't play any game which try to make me raid, PvP or RvR.  The less pleasant the game, the less likely I am to pay much.

I don't feel any title on the left is currently worth $5 for the enjoyment they would bring me, but if I would feel otherwise, I would pay.

This idea is a major problem with gamers in mmo's. Cost per month doesnt matter, its all the number of subscribers. Servers are cheap and games dont take huge amounts of bandwith(specially if you torrent updates like wow), the real cost of upkeep is in customer support. Your extra money would have no effect on quality even at 40 a month all it would do is keep 90% of the market out of your game and probably kill it.

    I'd pay a little more.

No thank you, 15 bucks is more than enough for a monthly mmo sub.

I read about those players playing "F2P" mmos and they pay up to 40 bucks a month.

    boggles my mind

    Playing: Nothing

    Looking forward to: Nothing

Im slightly torn on this question.

As a gamer, who is really only looking to enjoy myself, yes I would gladly pay more right now. Primarily because there is nothing out there right now that I feel is worth the 15$ after a few months of subbing. I would be willing to pay for something more innovative/fun etc.

On the other hand, I hate to think that the MMO world which is already absorbing a lot of money for sub-par games...expects to receive more from us the consumer.

I really don't think paying extra will equate to a better game, no matter what it is. It is totally in the companies hands' to build a better game. While I enjoy WoW from time to time, they arguably are not expanding their universe past the tested and true. Moreover, WoW makes a disgusting amount of money and they are doing nothing with it but enjoying the fruits.

When western "pay to play" game companies can start launching games worth 15 bucks a month consistantly, maybe they can start thinking about raising the price.

Right now, the current state of gaming, maybe 2 MMOs launched in the last 4 years are actually worth the monthly sub.

id pay more BUT Id want more; a lot more than whats offered now and Id want it to be of higher quality and faster delivery of content. And Id want this higher degree of service to be a gauranteed part of the EULA and every dev would have to click this each and everyday they come to work.
