RoM: Dual Class System?

So I read what it is on the RoM site. But kind of confused, is it a must to have a main/sub classes when playing this game? or you can go pure on a specific class and be on par with the people who plan on using the dual class system?

2nd, what do you think is the best sub class for rogue?

Thanks!

basically its two classes rolled into 1 toon though some spells can only be used if a certain class is your  main. Sorta sucks though since you gotta level both class

For your primary class you can use all skills marked with a P and S.  Your secondary class can only use skills marked with a S,  from my understanding.

Yea atm its limited to 2 clsses a primary and a secondary class which you can switch between at any time but ive noticed that after you have selected both your classes and try to select another one i.e try to change your secondary class, the npc mentions that you do not have enough class points, which is 2/2 at the moment.  Basically i think in the future they will allow us to change our classes like guild wars. So it will be something like 6/6 class points for the endgame, where you can switch to any class to make a dual class combo.

Im using a Rogue / Knight atm and its working really good. Try it out.3

Im kinda new too, from what i've figured the knight is the "tank" class in this game.Warrior is all about melee dps, with that in mind a warrior suits better for a rogue combining the extra melee elements and getting a boost on your output damage.

    My 2c

Nice, i see i will try this out when the CB3 starts.  I was also thinking with the rogues, are they able to dual wield any weapons like daggers etc? I tried doing this in game but could not pull it off so i was wondering if this will become available later on in the game i.e like a rogue skill.  Or was i doing something wrong?

    I'm planning to play a Mage/Scout, I like killing from distance :)

I have a warrior/scout. Only problem I have is that you have to grind a bit. You change between your classes inside your house BTW, took me a while to figure that out

I think the OP is asking the question I came to ask, so let me restate it a bit...

If you chose to be a Warrior/Warrior versus, say a Warrior/Rogue or a Warrior/Knight, would you still see benefits of being dual classed ?

On the official site they say there 36 dual class combinations, so that seems to imply that you CAN choose your own class as your secondary class... my question is whether you are gimping yourself by doing so ?  Does a Warrior/Warrior have any benefits that  a Warrior who doesn't choose a secondary doesn't have ?

I would also like to know what the benefits are to going pure class or going min/sub?

If you add up the combinations you will see that there are 36 choices before you do warrior/warrior or mage/mage so i dont think you can choose your primary class again as your secondary. the main advantage to having the secondary class leveled up will be for a few extra skills and the added stats. So basically if u just want to level as warrior you can but even a warrior/mage will end up with more stats then you will as a warrior only character, (not in beta so no inside knowledge)

I don't really think there's a benefit going pure class because having a second class you gain some of their stats as well like if mage is your primary class and you choose knight as your second class, then your mage will have more defense. You also get to use some of the skills of the second class you choose. But if you just go pure class, you lose out on the stat gains, skills usage, etc.

I am pretty sure I'll be playing Knight/Warrior. Meatshield ftw :)
