Darkfall is already completely finished as game!!!
If you read the 31okt update1&2 game is finshed, they now just prepare for launch and test it further with server satbility and how players interact with game, but game is at his end of developement .
Release 100%, when maybe end december or surtenly jan 2009!!!!

No, actually it's not. That's why they are beta testing. If they need they'll prolounge the beta till Q1 or even Q2 2009. As long as it's needed for the game to come out in a playable state.

The thread I just read said they're finished with the first phases of beta and there there's a lot of the game that is currently disabled and yet to be tested. Doesn't sound like anything's finished to me.
I know they use the term BETA testing when speaking of open beta but they really mean PLAYTESTING.
I really wish game devs would go back to this verbage to stop the confusion. Open beta is not in general used to find bugs i'ts used to test server limits and playtest mechanincs previously tested by closed beta testers. Could they find something that will delay the game at a that time sure, but I doubt it.

Hes just trying to garner attention. Hes pretty much just spamming this with multiple topic threads about the exact same thing. Ive come to expect as much from this small but vocal minority in the Darkfall community.
just for the record...testing one thing at a time does not mean the game is not feature-complete;
the approach to testing they follow is the most suitable in order to be able to track down specific reports on the issues that occur.

And how servers handle it.

haha... I gotta admit that was funny as hell. I was thinking the same thing about the bib.
What he said was they are doing a slow and methodical test process, which sounds good actually... but in no way did imply AT ALL the Darkfall is completely finished as a game. In fact, he implied that there's a lot of work to be done if anything.
You know, if the Darkfall fanatics would stop posting out of their asses, there'd be a lost less stupid bickering on the forums.

Are you on drugs. No where in there did he say the game is complete.

I don't see how the game can be complete if the features havent been tested.

Yep its totally true, because Tasos said so, this game is actually almost finished and will be ready for release any time in December, they just may or may not release it this year “depending on the marketing landscape at the time”.
Obviously because the "marketing landscape" could change so fundamentally in 1 month and is so unpredictable they can not possibly be any more specific at this time.
This is definitely not some pathetic BS type of excuse that they think will give them leeway to miss their official company commitment to launch within the year.
So we can all be rest assured that this game is almost finished, is feature complete and will be ready to launch at any time from December, there is nothing to worry about, they just might decide not to launch it yet, thats all.

Then next time say its feature complete, which means the features are done but require testing, not its a complete game and its ready to go.

They're been "feature complete" for well over a year.
That doesn't mean they're ready to ship.

Game mechanics are complete, which includes all the features. Testing , tweaking and adding content to the world is something totally different. But then i guess you know that.

Well they planning for a end of december realease, so maybe game is not complete, but then it must realy some minor things they have to implement then, becouse if they have maybe few weeks to go before the game realy are in boxes to ship to shops all over europe they cant realy add manythings to game then.
I think its finished only some minor tweaks and how when more people get ingame how game handles and servers and if there still bugs to be fixed.

you are god damn naive if you think game is finished. They havent event done beta testing yet man. only some internal testing with a few hired testers.
there is a very good chance that tons of problems will arise when beta start and they let people in to actually play the game for the first time around 10th nov.

Sounds a lot more likely. If the game would have been 100% done then it would be in open beta already.
Still, it is good news anyways. And hopefully they release it when it is finnished, and avoid the misstake of the many other devs lately.
