Yes, you have the choice to play or not. Unfortunately for me, I don't. Your cheating ways are forced upon me. I could play another game but why should I when I'm not the one breaking the terms and conditions. It's YOU that the developers are trying their best to ban.
You have to also take into consideration how many people this site has brought together. How many good reviews this site has given us. How many games the hand full of people update on a daily basis.
I understand that certain sites for in game trade for real money can change the econmy, but you have to look at it like that... people with money don't want to wait... so if I can make a quick $50 in real life for that extra set of armor I have in my bank, why not?
I agree it shouldn't be used to buy in game money, because that's just annoying... but to sit here and say it's mmorpg.com's fault? bla bla bla? Shame on you all.
Just look how much this site has done for you and the next person. Don't be pissed at one site having another site's webpage...
You also have to see it like this... "It helps pays the bills..." for the ever growing bandwith this site uses... The people here aren't even paid... so again, don't bash a site for having something on it... think before you speak.
mmorpg.com has been a great site for me. It's the 1st place I look when I'm at a loose end mmorpg wise. The up to date info on new and existing mmorpgs is great.
About bandwidth and bills. If a site is only able to maintain it's existance by damaging the things that it supposedly supports then it's time to close. I suspect mmorpg.com is not in such dire straights that it actually needs these ads to continue. I believe it's more about profit.

The majority of people do not believe that site is harming the MMORPG industry.
You have yet to prove that it is. All you have done is point at the Adena farmers in Lineage 2. That is a problem in that game that NCSoft needs to eveluate and eliminate. If NCSoft does not want it to happen, then they should do something to stop it.
But, it has nothing do with Joe Blow wanting to sell his hard earned Glowing Green Sword of Slime.
Idiot or not, I won't be getting into a name calling match with you.
I know all about work and effort put into running websites. Trust me. I've had offers to purchase a site that I own by more than 1 Adena selling company. They offered cash for the ownership and to pay me a monthly fee to continue running it, as long as it had one of their banners on it. I've had numerous emails from multiple Adena companies offering cash just to place banners. The cash offered was enough to cover all the hosting costs for all my other sites with money left over every month and in addition I'd have had a lump sum I could even have bought a decent new PC with. They can stick their money where the sun don't shine. I'll close down any sites I run before sell out to these people because I truly believe that they damage the games that I enjoy. If that makes me an idiot, so be it. I'll continue to pay any shortfall that have when hosting bills are due and if such a time occurs where I can't do it legitimately I'll close them.

I'm going to have to defend mmorpg.com here.
