When Michael Jackson was selling like newspapers in the 80s, I was not listening to him. Same with the hip hop stuff today. I never owned a pop album, ever. I don't eat at McDonalds when there are hundreds of millions of people in the world visiting McDonalds every day. It's not that I care about my health or anything, but just because people go there does NOT make me try those. Same with the most popular movies. I never went to theatres for Titanic for example. Instead I want to go to a movie which I would enjoy, not to the movies people go in the opening weekend.
So let me get this straight. You won't try some things just because they are popular? Some times there are good reasons that something is popular. Sure, there are some stupid fads that come and go and for awhile they are popular, but WoW isn't one of them. WoW has been popular for 4 straight years now. It's not some fad. Now that doesn't mean that YOU will like it. You may not. But to avoid something JUST because it's popular is pretty narrow minded if you ask me.
Let it be Pappy13. these are youngsters, struggling with their attitude. No use discussing this.
I guess the man missed about every top 20 film ever produced, from the Godfather to Lord of the Ring trilogy etc....
In the meantime I met a fellow at the launching night of WotLK who complained to me he had lost 3 years in MMORPG gaming because he deliberatly refused to play Wow - he found it too popular -.
I asked him ONE question: if he visited mmorpg.com.
Of course he answered yes. He was so thankful to the shopkeeper ( an avid Wow player) who advised him to give Wow a try. The guy was so sad to have begun with the game only a while ago. He now has a Death Knight made out of his main character. He doesn't stop talking about the bullshit being spread on mmorpg.com forums.
It shows just how sad this public is becoming.
Blizzard produces jewelry for pigs. I know this is harsh to say, but a lot of people deserve products like XXX and XXX.
Haven't see it on TV, but damn ozzy cracks me up. I watched it like 6 times, and laughed may ass off each time.
Classic!!!
Family man first, Gamer second!

I have a collection of 500 DVDs which includes LOTR, Godfather (one of my favorite movies of all times) and Matrix. Yes, these were also popular but I enjoyed them. How would you explain this?
I am 32 years old, so I am not a youngster. Even my signature is from a movie, which you will fail to recognize. Go ahead and search it in the interwebs, because it DESCRIBES people like you!!!
Too bad Blizzard is not paying me a salary to put positive crap stuff in the forums. I would be a real fanatic if they did

Ted Treffon: I don't represent Hardbodies.
Osbourne Cox: I know very well what you represent. You represent the idiocy of today.
Ted Treffon: No, I don't represent that either.
Osbourne Cox: You are part of a league of morons. Oh, yes. You see you're one of the morons I've been fighting my whole life. But guess what. Today, I win.
thats all? with 12 million players they only sold 2.8 million? seriously I think that 12 million sub statement by blizzard is bullshit. Think about it who the hell plays wow without all the Xpacs? Anyway grats to blizzard on the Xpac, but i still think the sub number is fabricated to make them look good.
2.8 million during the first 24 hours, they don't say how much they sold so far.
This is verry good.
We will see, If WotLK doesnt equal the WoW playerbase in sales i call the sub number every fanboi waves in front of a non-WoW players face bullshit.
I actually have a few friends who are playing without the recent xpac. They dont have a high enough character to benefit from anything in the xpac so why get it when you dont need it?
Actualy they only have to reach level 55 in the original game before they can roll a death knight. Also profession advancement is not character level specific.. The statment that there is nothing in the expansions for players below a certain level is completely false.
people like this crack me up. You do realize the 2.8M copies it sold is only for NA and EU. So 2.8M out of about 6M. That means 50% of players bought the expansion..... wait for it..... ON THE FIRST DAY!!!. Yes, if in 3 months, only 50% of players have bought the expansion.. that might not be so good. But we are talking about 'fanatic' people here. We are talking about people who went out and bought the expansion as soon as it was available. Another thing to remember.. In the 3 months before the expansion.. WOW vanilla was still on the best selling list. Which means there are probably a substantial number of players who aren't even ready for Wrath yet. So tell me about your game? is it Warhammer with it's merging servers and box sales ranked at number 468 on sales charts? Or is it AOC? (lol). If WOW's sales are so abysmal, what game is doing good?
WoW has 2.5m NA and 2 m European subscribers - according to Blizzard itself. I wonder, when will you ever learn the fact that WoW does NOT have 6m NA+European customers. Seriously...
That information was from a year ago when there were only 10 million subscribers as well. Since the subscribers has gone up to 11 million, it's a fair bet that these numbers have gone up too. And with the release of WoTLK it's a fair bet that the subscribers number are now up even over 11 million, so it's pretty safe to assume the number of NA and EU subscribers is nearing the 5 million mark if not over it.
And you failed to even address his point which was that over 50% of the subscribers bought the expansion on the FIRST day. That's pretty impressive no matter how you slice it.

So then you concede that sometimes popular movies are indeed good movies? In fact below is a list of the most popular movies of all time (based on box office). How many of these movies would you say are good movies?
1. Titanic (1997) $600,779,824
2. The Dark Knight (2008) $529,696,290
3. Star Wars (1977) $460,935,665
4. Shrek 2 (2004) $436,471,036
5. E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) $434,949,459
6. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999) $431,065,444
7. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) $423,032,628
8. Spider-Man (2002) $403,706,375
9. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) $380,262,555
10. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) $377,019,252
I'd say they are all good movies. There's a couple that I don't personally like, but they are still good movies. Isn't it possible that WoW is a good game that you just don't personally like? That's not possible?

Xtort is full of fail
2.8mil in 24hrs is great for wow! Most should be pre-ordered.
Wow is going to sell like hot cakes for the next 2 months
