I think most people see the gaming population of mmorpgs to be very limited which it really isn`t if you look on this study here:http://pw1.netcom.com/~sirbruce/Subscriptions.html

I think they are wrong;Just need to be willing to take risks

I have to agree that the market simply cannot bear any more MMO titles especially in the fantasy genre. The player base for these types of games is spread too thin already. By saturating the market with lots of similar games they are ruining the chances of good games being successful.

Lets say DE is a standout title. Lets be realistic. When you compare it to the games it would have to compete against the outcome is obvious...WOW ....EQ2 ....MEO.....D&D......All similar fantasy games but they have backing of large companies with well known licenses. Even if the game had been released it would suffer the same fate as most of the others like SOR and RYL will. Or worse yet end up like AC2 just rotting away with a tiny player base clinging to a thread of hope that is already breaking.

Unless someone can create a really unique one of a kind MMO they are not going to compete in this market. Big money and known licenses will rule this genre of gaming until it peters out and disappears.

    out.
