Why dosent half of your guild use proxies to play with the other half?

It dosent seem to be that much of an issue with me tbh, and you get to choose which server location to play from as a bonus...

I don't get the people complaing about this, it's so easily solveable.

Just post the instructions of how to do it on your guild website and done deal surely?

Because it's the dumbest thing to do.

You think they not gonna block these proxy servers? Ofcourse they will and they are already doing it.

Nothing is more frustrating then investing lot of time in a character and then being blocked out from it.

They can even go as far as banning your account when finding out you play through a proxy.

    Cheers

    Really?

My proxy hasnt been blocked, and it's a well known one.

Can you link to confirmed info that they are doing this?

I've played two classes in the trail and even with all the "new" features it still felt like I've done this before.  I'm still undecided on whether I would pay for a sub.  I'd be curious to know what changes past level 7, am I still killing 10 mobs, albeit with different skills, in exchange for money?
You can only rehash combat so many different ways before it all starts to blend together.  Maybe it's time they started expanding RPG's in other directions (ie home building, city building, political systems, econmic systems, more utilitization of day / night cycles and weather).  Then maybe the quests will have some basis and it'll feel like you're fighting for a reason instead of just killing mobs for the sake of killing mobs.

I agree with most of this. I've been playing PC RPG's since '92 and MMOG's since '97. I don't think there is anything that could be developed that wouldn't feel a little samey after a little while. I actually appreciated picking turnips and killing wolves at the start of TCoS. In fact the only thing I would have liked better is killing rats with a rusty dagger. Its a little campy, but its a right of passage in the RPG world. Everyone tries to make their starting content different, bigger, and badder than the one before them, but it never works. It always makes the following content be dissapointing. When I'm a newb I want to feel like a newb. I want the excitement, challenge, and story to progress incrementally. If TCoS can pull that off then I'll continue playing it. If not, then I'll move on.

'Aiming' isn't the only thing new in TCoS. As Dave mentioned there is the skill deck and the Sigil system. The AI is completely different than any other RPG that I have played. Just how different can you make an RPG before you lose all connection to the genre? The only thing in TCoS that is the same as other RPG's is that it has an inventory system, an avatar, and quests. Pretty much every other aspect has been modified to some degree. If you're bothered by the fact that you're stilling running around as an 'avatar' killing 'mobs' then... welcome to the fantasy RPG genre!

I'm not saying that TCoS is a great game. It has as many weaknesses as it does strengths, but it is unique.

Call it a hunch, but I doubt they will be strongly motivated to ban a paying subscriber. Sure, they can do it, but why would they?

For the exact same reason they cannot and will not lift the stupid IP bans.

They haven't shown any common sense up until now, so what makes you think they'd start?

I am semi interested in this game but if it has servers just for the UK then I won't even sniff it.  Looking at all the guilds I have been in they are largely made up from 10+ countries around the EU and I for one don't want to give up the opportunity to play with some great people based in Denmark, Norway, Italy, Greece, Spain or wherever.

    Servers are:

    German sorry i meant german

    French

    International

And the German servers make up for approx. 60 of the whole player base. German PVE server being the only one with a least a couple of players. so if its 60 of the whole player base why it so dead in there? i went in there and there are way more ppl in the international pve server then any at any given time....

"International" Servers are completely dead. Maybe you'll find a couple of players in the F2P area, but after that? None. You'll be happy run into another player once a day.

German PVE is by far the most populated Server and still seems dead compared to any other MMORPG I played so far.

I'm a paying customer so I can leave the F2P area and I tried all servers in order to get a comparison for an article of my TCoS fan site.

Maybe the Acclaim territories will do fine, but this won't help raise the population of the live servers. I've been following the game for years, even made a fan page and I'm already thinking about leaving. Well, I still got two months of playtime and an "special ingame item" which hasn't been implemented yet to get.

EDIT: Dunno, maybe you should just compare the number of posts made in the different parts of the official forums.

    International: 2144

    German: 5125

    French: 2326

Just came back from all the german servers and its SO DEAD in there....

  • mrignsmrigns Member UncommonPosts: 11

I doubt you speed leveld up to 8, or rather 10 to get to Quarterstone. I actually doubt you're even a subscriber as you're from Canada.

I've started to play on the International servers only to find out about the lack of players once you left the F2P area. I saw the last other player, other than myself in the F2P area. And I played to lvl22 before I rerolled on a German servers, which is clearly way more populated than both International server combined. But Still kind of dead. If you're lucky you'll see other players on prime time. Once you reached the lvl30 grind fest areas it's dead again. Completely Dead.
