Change the mode to Enhanced Editor and links should become active then.

Or upload the images to mmorpg and then when you post click add thumbnail to user image. From there you got many options on how you want to post a pic. I usually do tthumbnail with javascript pop up.

And nice pics btw.  I so have to finish VONs one day.

The graphics for DDO are fine, I don't play for other reasons.

Not going to list reasons, argue or debate why I don't play.

But I always thought DDO graphics were decent enough.

problem with ddo was never the graphics.

ofc they show up their dx 9 timing and badly made armors and dress in stilish terms.. but that was never the issue.

Issue was a game launched too soon.. a ghetto game for a very smal minority that couldnt even please that minority due to the fact that moved away from d&d core rules in such a degree that not even d&d fans like it anymore.

The game was developed in one direction, than gone in another and along the way changed directions so much that lead it to the dying digital corpse of what it is now.

    Nice screenies btw.

Unforunately graphics have never been much of an issue with D&D online. I have not hear to much complaining about them. Graphic had very little to do with why people left the game. I played D&D online for about 6 month at release. I realize the game has change a lot since then. My problem with the game was grouping and a lack of things to do when you can not find a group which was often. When I did get a group together it was fun but we ended up repeating dungeons over and over again. There is more content now but I have not come back because I see no evidence my experience will be much different then whe I left game.

WOW! I play the game and I have to admit those are some freaking awesome screenshots. Too bad you couldn't get video of the marketplace tent, how it was whipping around with that portal right above it. Besides some of the lag issues, the Shavarath invasion live event was a blast. I mean you said a prayer anytime you ran a low or middle level character through the marketplace because nothing scared the bejesus out of you more than hearing the rift sound and have an Orthon pop out in front of you.

I did get some video of the Shavarath invasion, unfortunately, I'm also unable to do anything with it since I recorded using the Xfire recorded, which doesn't seem to mesh with any of my edit software, so I just deleted it...

hey OP was that in dx9 or dx10?

  • Storman1977Storman1977 Member Posts: 207

Those pics were in DX10.   I still have some DX9 screenies on my HDD if you all want me to post em.  Nothing really interesting though, just some character shots.

  •  I don't really care too much about the quality of DDO graphics/art but I have to say that whatever Turbine did for LOTRO is far better than DDO .

The new DX10 lightning is certainly nice, but I guess its the art or something.  DDO trees look awful compared to LOTRO trees.  Pretty sure it has not much to do with the graphics engine itself.

Some of the stuff on the Korthos island seem to be more in line with certain things in LOTRO, but a lot of the older stuff is a little I dunno blocky or whatever.

Not a big deal to me,  I don't expect Turbine to go through and redo every single model.  DDO is not that new of game really.  Not super old but old enough.

But there is clearly, at least to me, a major difference in quality of looks between games (DDO and LOTRO) that I believe share a very similar engine.

They just shut down our test server Risia, there is speculation that they are changing over to Umbra. Hopefully, that will "freshen" up the place.

  • SevenwindSevenwind Member UncommonPosts: 2,188

    What is Umbra?

EDIT: Ok looked it up. I thought maybe it was something like speedtree. Hopefully will be able to add more detail to the game.

One assumes he didn't kill Drexelhand... (in the old wavecrest)

  • MystincloudMystincloud Member Posts: 46

Or he did I what I did. Killed Drexelhand and finished out. You have to run back to the chest for completion (escape the cave-in).
