What a shambles.

I am sorry but I was a long time follower of TCoS but this release has to go down as the worst ever.

Before the "you said you wouldnt play the game" posts start, yes I wont play the game anymore but as a long time follower and poster I am entiled to my point of view.

When the release date was announced I was very excited to start to play with friends and guild mates(having pushed it down there throats for a very long time).

Then came the IP blocking, this was basically the end for me anyway to be honest, but I thought I will finish what I started and continued to post on this and other forums the info I knew.

Now lets have a look what has happened in the last 2 weeks.

-people still posting the IP blocking is not official and nothing is certain yet.

answer -it is 100% with the ip blocking but the mods/devs havent made a more direct post about it just in locked threads or older threads, nothing in big letters in a sticky,I guess they dont want this to be the highlight of the release.

-the required specs.

answer-again it is known but the devs havent made a post about this and stickied it...not that I could see anyway.

-release for the mindscape community was for the 28th Nov,it didnt happen as they didnt publish/deliver the boxes on time so it was delayed at least a week.

answer-come on that cant be sorted out?I mean if the company got blown up I could understand but they never made or delivered them?

now with the very little info the devs/mods are giving and the forums will be IP blocked later this week this has been a nightmare of a release, for a game I followed so long a feel sorry for some of the mods there as I am sure they are not getting the info they need.

With all the IP blocking/release all to hell/forum blocking/no information...this game is already in trouble.

My thoughts are a year from now this game is already dead or Acclaim have control of it and it will be f2p with changes made to enable cash shops.

I just wonder if this was Acclaims plans from the start.

While I don't agree that IP blocking is the end of the game as you seem to think, the game's handling reeks of F2P games.

Maybe because it does not effect you direclty,I live in Holland and play with guys from the UK,that is no longer possible, also there are only 9 countries that will play on "multi language"servers (2 servers)you tell me how you see that working out and just how busy those servers will be?

Well, that is really sad for the mindscape community.

I play on a German server. The launch there was actually quite smooth. I got my box on the 27th and was able to log on and start playing, no problem. A number of people got their box (Amazon was a bit tardy again) on the 28th and the servers filled up considerably. The community seems to be very nice and helpful.

I like this game a lot and, as I said before, I think it deserves a chance.

i myself am very disappointed with everything that has happened. my UK buddies are now basically gone which i played with, but who knows maybe this can all be straightened out.

What's the point of the IP blocking, to stop gold farmers/spammers?  If that's the case, and it works, I'll accept it as a necessary evil.

If it's not one thing it's another.  MMO companies seem to be on a self destructive streak.

As an American, this won't affect me.  But I feel bad for my european gaming brothers and sisters.  I could see how this could ruin the appeal of the game for some.

You can add to the list that they do not have GMs in game, no way to contact them if your character gets stuck for example, can as well reroll then.

In fact they do not have even a way to create a ticket in game, you have to contact support through some 3rd party site. That's like worse than AoC in my book.

1OO% agree.  While I was more interested in Aion then this title for 2009 releases, it is always a bad thing to see companies fiddle with their communities and potential gamers, BEFORE release.  Never a good sign, imo.

/stuck is in the game mate...

  • AlengwanAlengwan Member Posts: 54

/stuck does not work if you are on shard ship, in the shops or tavern at least. It does not even work outdoors half of the time, not to mention all other support, bugs, idiots in chat and so on.

They have no support in game, period, just that 3rd party website.

I would not be surprised if they don't even have any support at all in the weekends and non working hours, even on that 3rd party site.

Lol how about the the Dev's give people a chance to actually play it ?

Well, even Germans can't play much at the moment, since according to my German friend, you can't level past level 14, because content after that is bugged and you run out of quests. You also can join only 2 of the High Houses, since the rest is bugged as well.

Strange. During closed beta several people were able to level all the way to 50 without the need to grind and all High House initiation quests worked.

Yeah it did, but by the looks they re-adjusted the fame for quests/levels just before the release and broke the game in the process. It looks like you can join only one high house (Silver) without problems and maybe Maul, but some people say it is broken as well. Nobody can level past 14-15, since quests are broken and you know how efficient grinding your level is in TCoS by killing mobs.

All House quests were broken in CB. (maybe silver worked, i dont recall) Even in open beta my house quest (Torque) didnt work.

Cant level past 14-15? Thats when really leveling gets a kick again after a slow leveling 10-14/15. A new shard (ringfell) starts at that level and can level you up to 20+, in CB. Are you saying they managed to ruin a whole shard right before release? sounds strange.

The fame reward system was changed right before open beta, and I had no problem leveling to lvl 15 without ever leaving Parilament. I think this is a case of the virus being located between the keyboard and the chair. (not directed at you, Alenwan)

I finished both Rune and Shroud without any problem. And I only heard complaints about the Maul initiation quest containing an overpowered opponent.

Well, it would be strange if all of the players were a problem, and it looks like everyone has same problem in German forums.  You get too little fame to be high enough level to accept the further quests - my guess is that they wanted to slow leveling down (since as you said, it picks up from Rinfell) and in the process cut it down too much.

In any case, tomorrow should be f2p day for the rest of so called Europe, then we will see for sure how it is.
