NOw that we have 2 new careers (Thanks Mythic, keep em comin) I woticed that a lot more players were playing KoTBS than the BG.
Anyone think it will help to even out the sides? Will players not stick with KoTBS and return to other sides/careers?
Just wondering

After yesterdays wonderfully stupid NERFING of BW's i doubt it will help any. Alot of us are considering rolling WE's now if we dont quit all together.
Yeh, smart move there genius....because of course, things will never change and Mythic might not ever change the changes it just made. Logic is fun!
It seems to me that lots of players decided to try the new classes but i really dont see how that changes the order/destruction pop. Most everyone i know who tried them are trying the one for the side they play already. I am encourage by the balancing that mythic has been trying with player classes and it amzes me depending on which side you are on players seem to complain about the strength of the other sides classes. I think most of it comes down to how well the player truly plays there chars and i dont see why everyone complaigns so much about rebalances the game has bairly been out and it takes a good while to find a true balance between the classes. Also i have think that it must be your server that has a low order pop because mine badlands seems to have a good populataion for both sides. Give the game time to get a good balance and if you dont have the patience then you really should not get any new mmo since it takes months to get the proper balance and will always be a work in progress

Not all people have blind faith in others.
As for the original topic, no, KotBS will not help Order in the long run. You'll have many now, just curious about the class, but it will not help Order by itself in the long run.
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." the two new tank clasess made a huge difference in the sc/rvr dynamic. We see big changes in the way things are played out allready, and I didn;t even see any enw clasess in tier 4 yet.

Yeah, Guildwars have people working on that all the time, and had for the last 4 years, and still they are finding small imbalances (It is however the only well balanced game I played ever).
Besides all classes don't have to be perfectly balanced to eachother, the important thing is that both sides needs to be good balanced to eachother.
If you can't stand imbalanced PvP you should either start to play Guildwars, try FPS games or wait until the game is a year old. And if they raise the levelcap it starts all over again (but just for the new 10 or so levels, now it is all levels), just look at Wow now.
It would have helped in release. Now, it may have some effect, but very little. Despite Mark's claims, Mythic does not know how to run an MMORPG and they have little understanding of their playerbase.

If alot of hardcore players love the KotBS then it would make a lvl of difference bcos you would most likely see them in T4 within a few weeks. I'm definitely going to be rolling one and i'm sure i'm going to have fun.
This is not a game.
Yes KOTBS will help order. It has similar mechanics to the chosen tanks (which is a very popular tank). Also human is the most popular order race. I have already seen several KOTBS in tier 1 and 2 from heavy metal. If you look at what order needs most in tier 4 its tanks. KOTBS will be a great addition.
yes it will
The short answer is yes.
The long answer is yes. The intro of a human tank creates a different tone for the Order side. WH/BW/WP/KotBS are all very well implemented and balanced classes (after the patch). People like elves, but they are a little fruity lookin', dwarves are strong as hell and not given enough credit as probably the most playable race in the game with the 3 professions you can play. But humans are easy to identify with.
Give me a gruff lookin guy that hasn't shaved in a few days with a scar over one eye and a less than cheery disposition. Equip him with a rapier in one hand and a pistola in the other, and oh by the way, make his profession all about purging evil at the cost of his own soul........yeah.
All order was missing was an aesthetically pleasing tank (human). We'll have a definite answer in about 3 weeks though.
A bit I think, since some players didn't like playing either elves or dwarfs and wanted to play a tank; although I would be surprized if the class mechanic was enough to draw in a significant number of players.
Fundamentally, Order is missing the cool (and fun) that there is in Distro. My missus loves her gobbos and the gobbos quests as they are generally funny. The problem is more to do with GW than Mythic as the intellectual property is where the problem stems from. Which will only get worse if they dump Skaven and Vamps into the mix. Some players have talked enthusiatically about Lizardmen, but that is the only GW army I don't have, so I can't comment. It is possible that Wood Elves and Brettonia knights might appeal to players (and scantily clad Sorcesses), but my solution would be Dogs Of War, that way Order could have a few "dubious" classes and raaces
However, my pet solution would be playable "animal" skins. Obviously the mechanism exists as there is squig armour. Chuck in Wulfs (everyones favourite PvMP LotR Class), and maybe Griffins and Eagles (or even small dragons) and I think with a bit of thought there might be a some interesting class options for Order.
