What is that thing that keeps you interested in this game ?

what is that thing , that feature of the game that keeps you on the edge of your seat ? the thing that you will test once you log in for the first time (after the actual character creation/custumisation process)  ?

This game has been in dev. for a loong while but people have been following it's progress despite constant release (beta) deleys by the devs, although Aventurine does not show any signs of marketing the unreleased game has already got an army of fans and haters.

(pardon my spelling , i know it sucks)

Implementation of FFA PvP game mechanics.

IMO, no one has ever gotten the balance just  right, or developed a system that allows enough freedom for players to kill each other, but stops the game from being a total gankfest that only those will countless hours to waste can possibly play.

Meh for me it's many things.

The PvE which is supposed to be an actual challenge.

The FFA PvP with full loot

    The clan related mechanics

    The sandboxness

The skill system instead of the class/level system

    The Large seamless world

    The crafting system

    a lot really.

Personally it's the crafting system for me , everything in game can be player crafted part caught my eye :)

just wondering why people say that this game is focused on PvP when there are so many possibilities ingame apart from ganking like exploring

Sheer curiousity of all the features they intend to introduce. Not one in particular, but the fact that all of them are intended to coexist amongst eachother.

I hope it turns out well.

The high-lighted areas are the ones that I will be trying out first.  If the OPEN Beta or Free Trial pans out... otherwise I'll be waiting to hear from you guys instead.

crafting and war will be everywhere, no levels and no carebear theme parks. there are a couple of guilds that already made alliances. it's going to be glorious.

Absolutely! We can create our own adventures and stories with our own actions in a way that no other game caters for.

The main appeal of the game for me is that it doesnt force me to follow a scripted story from beginning to end like other single player games do. In Darkfall I will actually have the opportunity to roleplay with my actions for once rather than typing meaningless garbage into a chat channel and pretending it means something which is what most people mistakenly call roleplaying in an mmo. In Darkfall I will be able to think of a character background and a way of life that is attached to that character and act it out within the gameworld which is something you cant do in other mmos.

In fact Darkfall will actually be a REAL mmo for once as opposed to all of these single player games that have been passed off as mmos by incorporating an online multiplayer feature into them.

    the FPS/TPS combat

but I'm currently stuck with shitty internet for at least a year. I can barely play TF2, BF2 etc.

so I say gogogo darkfall 2010!

PS: don't buy mobile broadband contracts unless you want 500 ping and a dl rate which looks like a rictor scale.

it seems much more survivalistic and barbaric than cozy themeparks
